I weigh 220 ... but I have a farm working, bronze, slick ass body ...

I'm 6'4 and have the body of a Hibernian warrior.

In short, I could wrestle any of ya'll to the ground and work from sunrise to sunset in the fields while ya'll pant and whine and complain your way to the infirmary ... but when it comes to running distance, jumping high, and clashing at swords for more than half an hour (only because a proper sword fight is won in 30 seconds), I'd lose.

Make sense? I guess to some it will.

However I have to lose weight as I am getting older and the proper amount of muscle to justify this weight is getting harder and harder to maintain.
I unlike Keruvalia our Hibernian warrior do not work on a farm(I envy you).
I weight lift and box (MMA really).
Now that I am pushing thirty with several children the time needed to maintain health at this is weight(I am only 5'10" by the way) is just too much.
So I will take it down to 190-200 for about 5 years and then down to 160-170lbs that should be sufficent to keep me from blowing my ticker up when I get really slowed down...:::rubs aching back:::...:::Walks away-knees crackling like poprocks:::...

6' 2" and about 210

Just about alright, cause I do about 4-5 hours down the gym a week, and I am about to take up ju-jitsu when Uni starts again. Any less than this and it all turns to fat. I enjoy my food to much, that my problem.

By the way the body mass index can be quite mis-leading because it does not take into account of muscle mass in a very accurate manner. I have a BMI that says I am over weight but my body fat percentage is just under 14% which is classed as athletic. Body fat percentage is the only real way that you can tell if you are a healthy weight, but BMI can be a useful tool.

5'-9"-188- 14%bf..... The quickest way to get your bf is take the measurement around waist and minus the measurement of neck, usualy about as accurate as a bf scale.

highly athletic people are "grossly obese"
Body fat is a better indicator, it's just hard to get, i like the general waist minus neck size, that's a great general idea of what it is, not accurate, but a general guide. i am 5'11, 240. i have less than 10% body fat, i am a nationally ranked powerlifter, and i throw in bodybuilding in the offseason (just for ego/look, i admit). but i am grossly obese by BMI standards, yes far more healthy than almost anyone in the "healthy" range. sheesh, are people all supposed to be so puny? 173 is the top end weight in my height. 5'11 173 is a little guy. maybe i am confused by being in the midwest US, where people are taller, bigger, and fatter on average than just about anywhere else in the world, that i expect people to be bigger? oh well. I'm superfat, i suppose. anyone translate/give me the general translation for lbs to kgs? be a nice thing to know.....

True, the standards of being at a proportionate weight/height index really don't do anyone justice. I know the military allows men to be up to 22% body fat before we shipped them off to the fat farm. Also though as I and many of my buddies, we never met the standards of the weight/height index (and we run 4.5 miles a day (5 days a week) and extensive other aerobic and weight training. I know for my height of 5'9" they allowed me to be up to 188 (we would obviously take muscle mass in the conclusion, or many divers, udt, uct, eod, and seals would be in the fat farm), which now I am actually meeting lol.

The only other place I can think of where people are taller is the Netherlands, where the average height of men is about 2 - 3 inches taller than most Americans, (I'm from CT by the way).

that's true....except the midwest is the largest as far as average people in the country, of course, because the ethnic majority is german/dutch/northern european, so the midwest US measures right along with the northern europeans, just fatter, on average, lol. all those big football lineman come from somewhere, lol

A kilogram is about 2.2 pounds. So because I'm around 165 pounds, I'm just about 75 kg. It's not quite exact, but who cares about .0245 or something of a pound? (I'm also about 5 feet 11 inches, or 180 cm.... yeah, feet and inches sounds better for height.)

.454 kg for a pound. 30.4 cm for a foot. I'm about 65 kg and 1.69 m.
