dude, the shining was so much sacrier than that crap. So was psycho, silence of the lambs or the exorcist. The only movie of late that can stack up to those is the ring.

I did see it. It was not a copy, it was a remake, and the ringu itself was scary, but extremely low budget.

I've seen both english and japanese version of The Ring.

Trust me the japanese had no budget. There was a major difference after they threw money at it and made a much better film. Better camera work as well in the second version.

The worst movie I have ever seen, or has ever been made, is Plan 9 from outer space. Tis a horrible film, even by b-rated film standards. I'd recomend it just so you can laugh at the horrible plots and such. As for scarriest, some of those things popping up in the Alien serries scared the hell out of me, that or made me extremely uncomfortable.

I saw Ringu. I guess it seemed a little less scary than the Ring, but probably because I watched it 2nd, so I knew what was gonna happen.

Ringu is a great movie, though. And in Japan they have 2 or 3 other Ringu movies (one is a prequel set in the 50's or so). I need to see those.

The Ring 2 should be coming out here, I think.

And it didn't seem like Ringu was THAT low-budget...

Scareist: Solaris.

You can have all the gore, all the phenonoma, all the freaky music you like. To me though, nothing is scarrier then insanity, psychosis, nerosis. And Solaris doesn't just show some guy going nuts, it makes you feel as if your the one who can't trust his own judgement.

I won't ruin the movie for those who haven't seen in by going into specifically what scared the ever living...dung out of me, but I think any reasonably intelligent person who watches the movie will understand.

Worst: Kite (anime)

It wasn't badly made, it wasn't badly animated. Kite is the worst movie I have ever seen simply because it is sick, disgusting, perverted. I am not one to get offended easily; I've seen plenty of both anime and live-action movies that have some pretty gross stuff. But Kite was something else. Whoever wrote it had a messed up mind.
