Speaking of which you just reminded me that I need to buy a new backpack for school.

Do I count? I don't "hike" in the conventional sense of the word, but I have spent days in the NE Texas wilderness with nothing but a knife and a lighter.

Though I do invite anyone to come join me in my wanderings.

Hey that sounds like more fun than hiking!

Im planning on doing the pct in 2006 for the cause of asthma, all 2650 miles of it. It can take over 5 months( im hoping for 4 months 20 days), but it should be quite a humbling experience.

I'm serious! If you want to come to my lands and spend a few days living like the Caddo did (that's a Native American tribe, kids), then I will be more than welcoming to ya. No charge ... you just have to get here.

I used to dable in it; longest I went was two weeks in the Seirras.

But I hated it, so I stopped :p

Just got back from a light backpacking trip. A 37 miler. I've done a 50 miler, a 57 miler, two forty milers, and a 34 miler. When I got back, I found I was terribly behind in RP. Oh well
