Today in my cal class, the teacher asked a question that wasn't really a math question and said it was from the math club at the University. I knew the answer immediately as it is an old trivia type question, but I'm skeptical on answering. I feel like he'll expect me to be really awesome in math if can answer logic question...hmm...

My dad is a cal teacher and he says that he wouldn't have expected you to be awesome in math. Anyway, did you answer or not?

They teach Calculus in Arkansas?

J/K :p I should probably stop busting your balls for that outburst the other day

Seriously though don't ever be ashamed of having knowledge or afraid to show it. If you know the answer let him know.

I'm seriously starting to question whether or not NSers actually read.

You never said if you actually answered the question. Because of your doubt I assumed that you didn't answer, but I asked anyway.

The bolded part might make it a little more clear to you if you pay attention to the tenses...

He's saying he's sceptical(i.e. thinking) about answering, so he's been given time to work it out.

What is the question, how old are you? And put the answer in an illegibly small type, so we can cut and paste it and change font if we don't know.

I'm 18 and a freshman in college. It's honors Cal I.

It's the old question that goes like this:

You have to figure out something.
You can only ask one question and only ask it once to only one person.
Unfortunately, everyone belongs to either a group of people that always lies or to another group of people that always tells the truth.
You can't tell if the person you ask is a liar or honest.

To get the proper answer, you ask the person you meet what the opposite person would say if you asked for the answer. If the person always tells the truth, he will honestly tell you the lie the other guy would say. If the person always tells the truth he will lie and tell you the opposite of what the other guy would say. Therefore, you know the opposite of what ever the answer you recieve is the correct answer.

Read my post. The word "skeptical" is in it, so he's obviously talking about me.

I hate to sound patronising but that's proper easy and is also nothing to do with anything

If you know it from old trivia, say so, and tell him.
