best news show ever, better than any news show on FOX, and the best part is, they dont pretend to be real news, unlike FOX

Whine, whine, whine.

Now that that's done with, I totally agree with Chess Squares (for the first time ever). Jon Stewart and company are equal opportunity offenders. It's nice to see intelligent satire after all those years of SNL and such.

John Stewart is originally from Lawrence township, New Jersey. He grew up not twenty minutes from where I grew up. Hometown boy made it to the big time. We're all so proud.

I agree. Then after the Daily Show Kilborn was never as good. Jon Stewart is still cool though.

Which shows that it wasn't really Kilborn that was great, but the writers of the Daily Show.

Kilborn was better....

Remember the joke they did about the Gay cruise that was not allowed to dock in the Cayman Islands? Classic stuff!

Well they also had other people on the Daily Show when Kilborn was on it. But most left with Kilborn, ike the reporters. Everything was much better under Kilborn's reign on the Daily Show.

The second most reliable source of world information. Falling just behind the Weekly World News. However I’d wish they’d bring back five questions. :(

Yes, it is, in fact they did a poll a while ago, 80% of teenagers who watch the news watch the Daily Show as their only news program. Some of the stuff is true, just with their own little twists, and you gotta love it when McCain comes on, damn he is funny. Sometimes I feel sorry for John Stewart though, he has to try and sound serious about some of the issues while trying not to laugh is ass off.

Holy shit, you are fucking hilarious, I am assuming that was a joke, please tell me it was a joke, right? There is a reason Kilbourne does the Late Late Late Night Show now, nobody is awake to see him make an ass of himself.

Wasn't the Late Late Show just cancelled?

anyways, I'll have to agree that The Daily SHow is the best thing on television right now (now that Joe Schmo 2 is finished).

Did anyone see the episode with John Gibson from FOX news?

No Kilborn is great. The Daily Show was far better with him at the helm. But Jon Stewart is a worthy successor. Then Kilborn went to the Late Late Show, which started out good. Heh, that promo for it was great. But then his show just slowly declined from there. It's like they kept on losing the good writers and replacing them with bad writers.

But the Late Late Show was cancelled because Kilborn didn't resign for a new contract I believe.

I hate the Daily Show. That's why I don't watch it. So if you don't like FOX, I wouldn't sugest watching it. Your just giving them add revanue if you do watch it.

Wait, Kilbourne was better than Stuart? Guys, this is why methanphetamine =/= a good idea- because you start to believe things like that. I mean, there's a reason Daily Show viewership is up more than 400% since Jon took over, and it wasn't the brilliant marketing on the part of Comedy Central.

Also, the Daily Show, despite being a "fake" news show, really does satarize (and in the process of doing so, make signifigant points ignored by the rest of the media) a great deal of things that deserve being satarized. The last few months have been great, because Jon Stewart in his monolouges and even in interviews has been cold as ice. He managed to rip Wolf Blitzer, some Republican Congressmen that was part of a "rapid response" team at the DNC, and Ed Gilespie and they're talking point rhetoric to shreds. Not to mention their coverage of the Swift Boat Vetrans, which has made them look like the duche bag liars that they are. Daily Show >>> Faux News

The Daily Show is amazing. Anyone see the one right after that stupid gay marriage ban failed?

"So, apparently, according to (I forget the name)..."

Conservatives for the Daily Show, unite! I for one like the daily show. Especially when they make fun of both sides equally and without bias. They are usually pretty good at that. I generally laugh just as much at the Bush jokes as the Kerry jokes. I am scared, however, that a number of people on this forum think it is an actual news show. It is a satire of the news. They are taking the daily news issues and making fun of them. It isn't serious news. It is hilarious, but it shouldn't be where you learn about world events. Just like you shouldn't rely on tabloids to serve the role of you morning newspaper.

Best thing, it may count as fake news but its just as real as the rest. I watch all I can, even fox when I want to see if they lie that day too.
I have yet to see a report that was a lie on Daily show its the same or better than the rest in reporting.
It true though a guy said if we allow everyone to marry, "why can't I marry a box turtle". Stewart just made it in a funny report though.

I can't wait to see how he does for RNC.

Watching FOX is so funny though, hell it makes me laugh almost as much as the Daily Show.

"And tonight on FOX, who hasn't seen the Nuclear Football? Wouldn't you love to see what is inside of it? Well your day has come, the president has allowed us to have a cameraman follow him around and do a mini documentary, to repay their trust we are now gonna share with the whole world the exact contents and codes, so anyone who is watching can launch the missiles so long as they have access to the internet."

I know, corny, but they would if they could, bastards.

Very well said, they should have that as a warning, like a rapper saying about 3 pages worth of legal nonsense in like 30 seconds at the opening credits.

It's really unfair to compare Kilbourne and Stewart, because they have completely different schticks. I prefer Stewart, but that's largely because he's morphed into such a media critic over the last few months.

What people on this thread have been saying--that he's an equal opportunity political shot-taker--isn't exactly correct. His schtick isn't political so much as it's media driven. Go look at the clip where he's interviewing Wolf Blitzer (I think it's still up) and watch how badly Stewart hammers him. He asks if the media suffered from retardation--it's a brilliant moment. And that's why I love the show--he skewers the people who most need it, namely, the bastards in the news media who have been slacking on the job for the last fifteen years or so.
