Certainly is. My condolenses to their families. What's disturbing, though, is that I don't think this is an accident. They left from the same airport in Moscow, and lost contact with ground control nearly simultaneously. Eyewitnesses even report explosions. I'm tempted to say that this is terrorism.

I suspect that as well, but until we can get confirmation, best not to speculate. Accident or not, it's horrid.

It couldve been an attempted terrorist attack by the chechnyans seeing as one of them was heading to Vladimir Putins summer resort (but this is nothing new the Russian people have been subjected to many terrorist attacks by the chechnyans in the past, the most infamous was when a group of chechnyans took over a famous theatre in Moscow but the Russian counter-terrorist unit solved that situation)

I want to extend my sympathies to Russia and all Russians as well. I heard about this tragedy on the radio when they thought it was only one airline and then when it was confirmed to be two my mom's boyfriend called and told us.

Okay then. In fact, I just found out that the reports on the explosions to be unconfirmed. But President Putin is having the terrorism possibility looked into, and security at Russian airports has tightened.
