Well, that and he won't *want* George Bush re-elected...the problem is he made it quite clear during the 2000 US elections that he wanted Gore to win, and the result were a few diplomatic teething problems in the relationship between the two premiers...so despite the fact Blair and New Labour will went Kerry to win this time around (after all, Labour is still theoretically a social democratic party...) they're being more careful in order not to threaten the precious "special relationship" in case Bush wins (or cheats) again.

Because we all know the commons is just a play ground for over paid, overage children and their mudslinging fests. ;) of course, also because of the way its set up, he would have to give in...
