Well its offical... In the latest issue of Mad magazine, Al Franken was named number 31 on there 50 worst things about comedy for....

" Al Franken, who has managed to match Rush Limbaugh's level of smugness and childlike name calling without having to pop thousands of pills."

I guess what they say is true: Power corupts, but a microphone corupts absolutly.

A flip-flop? Did he become conservative? Or what?

At first I wish you would clarify. Do you mean him become smug and childish, or him becoming conservative?

Pssssst. Conservatives use the word "flip-flop," to indicate any kind of thought that strays from their carefully constructed, black and white, "uniting" by "excluding all those that disagree" world view. Four years ago, "exaggerator" meant the same exact thing, and four years before that, the mystery word was "blow-job."

I've listen to his show for many days, and I have to say that it's quite funny and very insightful. Many of the guest he has on daily speak their views and tend to be very free about their stance on subjects.

I don't understand what would make him a "flip-flopper" though. Then again, he did beat Rush in the rating in his few reports. He did admit though that ratings where based on the 18 - 25 crowd who tend to go to college are have free time in their afternoon. Rush is leading with the seniors though. I think this is due to Franken's SNL popularity that gave him a major boost and a preset fanbase, unlike Rush who tends to turn people away with his bigotry for any and all non-white groups.

A bit off the subject, I must ask, does anyone know where I might be able to find older playback of Al's show? I'm looking for the Jon Stewert (Daily Show) interview. I missed out on most of it. :headbang:

Al Franken has always been a smug little adze.
He used to be funny, but when he gets into politics, he just starts sounding stupid. Ah, for the days when he was on SNL. Back when they were both funny.
Now seeing/hearing/reading them is roughly akin to inserting your genitals into a blender. Only more shaming and you can only do the blender thing once.

Uh, can you explain what you are talkign about or are you just trying to give Franken a bad name because you don't like how popular his radio show has become, by spouting off nonsense hoping it will turn people against him?

And no Franken is very funny when talking about politics. When I heard him on the radio giving a speech about how FOX news tried to sue him for using the phrase fair and balanced in his book "LIES AND THE LYING LIARS WHO TELL THEM: A FAIR AND BALANCED LOOK AT THE RIGHT", I was in tears I was laughing so hard.
