Halo for the PC
I don't have an Xbox, but I do have a PC....well....obviously.
Anyway, should I get Halo for my PC? I'm using the trial version and it looks pretty good, although I think my graphics card isn't the best for this game. Someone want to tell me the recommended specs for this game and how can I find them on my PC?
Heh, I'm such a n00b when it comes to figuring out how good my PC is.

Yeah it's ok, its good if ya dont have an xbox, and the online is good, but for some reason i just didnt like it as much as the xbox version.
Ok the recommened specs are -
* Windows 98se/me/2000/xp
* 128 ram
* 733mhz processor
* 1.2 gb hard drive
* 32 nb/ 3d t&l capable video card
* and of course a modem/broadband for online play.
Im not entirely sure how to find your stats but this worked for me -
Start > run > type Dxdiag.
It will then come up with a diagnostic tool, then click save all information at the bottom, save it and then open the document with a tool, preferably notepad.
Just read throught it, and its all ya really need to know :D

I don't have an x-box either. (i chose ps2)
I can't get halo yet. I'm getting a new pc about the same time that halo 2 is coming out. So i'm getting that.
My opinion: wait until halo 2 comes out. It will be better than the first and it's not too far away.

I can't wait until Halo 2 comes out on xbox, it will keep me happy for weeks :D.
Does the pc version come out at the same time as the xbox version ?

You have to play the 1st HALO to understand the 2nd one.
By all means get it. I have both. The PC version has some new weapons to.

I doubt anyone will ever consider getting halo2 without ever playing halo.
And how do you know? Halo 2 isn't out yet.

I don't recall seeing anything about Halo 2 being released for the PC anytime soon.
Care to share a link to this speculation?
You mean there's a version of Halo for the unPC?

If by unPC, you mean xbox, then of course.

I don't have a link. It's just that most games that come out for both a system and pc, come out at the same time.

Halo has got to have had the worst ending for a game ever. You put in all that effort developing your skill and you finishing the game rests on your skill with something you barely have any practice at.
I found it very frustrating.
What?
It's a joke. PC=politically correct, get it?

Well, I found a way to see all my specs, except for the video card one. I have Windows XP.
Anyway, I easily surpassed all the specs, except for the video card, which I have yet to discover where to find the specs for that one.
Did I repeat myself?

Your PC should run HALO fine if it ran the Demo.
I suggest you get the HALO Mapping tool. It's fun!
to view video card on XP, open "control panel" from start menu.
click on "performance and maintenance"
click on "see basic information about your computer"
select tab that says "Hardware"
click on "device manager"
expand file that says "display adapters"
this should show you the name of your video card.
