...do felons, in the states which strip you of your right to vote, bother to pay taxes. You'd think at least one would try the "No taxation without representation" plea.

Actually, what is the justification of stripping citizens of the right to vote if they have commited a crime?

they have shown themselves to be legally irresponsible so they arent morally fit to vote (i assume)

geeeee imagine, felons not SMART enough to protest injustice. go figure

seems to me that there are 2 kinds of convicted felons. those who go straight and those who stay in crime.

those who go straight, unless they are one of those rich white collar martha stewart types, are just trying to rebuild their lives. if they gettheir lives back on track they can petition the governor to commute their sentences so they can vote again

those who stay in crime dont pay taxes. they havethe drug runner exemption

Touche.

I always thought that the prison system was meant to have an element of rehabilitation about it.

This kinda sounds like you don't think stupid people to vote.

those who go straight, unless they are one of those rich white collar martha stewart types, are just trying to rebuild their lives. if they gettheir lives back on track they can petition the governor to commute their sentences so they can vote again

Why should they be striped of their rights in the first place though?

do you think they even care enought to vote?

Some might. Anyway, intentions to vote aren't the question.

and you dont pay taxes just to vote.

I know, you pay them so your not sent to jail.

> And does choosing between a sleazy liar and a gun-toting liar help ANYONE?

This kinda sounds like you don't think stupid people to vote.

> No, stupid people shouldn't vote. That's how Bush was elected.

Why should they be striped of their rights in the first place though?

> Because they have proved themselves irresponsible

Some might. Anyway, intentions to vote aren't the question.

> Who says it's not a part of it? I didn't real the question

I know, you pay them so your not sent to jail.

It's note like non-criminals don't vote criminals into office.
