did y'all miss the number of time they have had to kill off birds in china? several times they had to kill all the chickens in hongkong and other cities.
it was because of some kind of bird flu that could infect humans.
and did y'all forget west nile virus that has been spread across the US by birds? there have been 21 cases in newmexico so far this year. it infects birds, horses and people (and who knows, maybe pigs too)
ive seen that pandemic thing thrown about quite a few times. we havent had a "as bad at the influenza epidemic of 1919" yet. i expect that its because medicine back then sucked.

how many pigs live with ducks?
It's the people who do this (like the Chinese). They keep chickens, pigs, ducks and other domestic animal as food and breeding. This is in rather crowded unhygenic conditions.
If you have chickens and ducks with bird flu, it can mutate into a form which the pig can contract and hence humans.

you do not keep pigs with birds, period. ducks and chickens live together, pigs by themselves, goats and cows together and sheep by themselves
