Republican Congressman Condemns US Invasion of Iraq
A leading Republican Congressman from Nebraska, Doug Bereuter, has broken with party ranks and admitted that he now believes the U.S. was wrong to invade Iraq. In a letter to constituents he wrote "It was a mistake to launch that military action, especially without a broad and engaged international coalition." Bereuter, who served as vice chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is retiring from Congress this month after serving 26 years

Saddam was a great guy, a kind of middle-east secular Mussolini-type fascist, one fervently opposed to Israel. I really regret his removal. Neocon Republicans should be severely condemned for facilitating it. Bush is the real war criminal here!

Who said it was our job to remove him?

Does that mean we're gonna purge the world of evil dictators?

That's gonna be fun to watch.

So you dont believe that as the worlds number 1 super power we dont have a responsibility to destroy dictators? I think saddams last criminal act was to get the united states to bomb his country. He couldv stopped all of it but he didnt.
How about offer aid to other countries?
Fuck it why dont we just become isolationists. We can say screw you! to the world economy, cuz we'll be just fine. Kinda selfish imo.
What i want to know is this, if in ten years iraq is better off, would you still hold the same opinion now of this war?
Everyone always wants our money, but they never want anything else.

Calm down there sparky.

You're right, I don't believe it's our job to destroy dictators.

Why should it be? We're a super power? Wouldn't that be abusing our power?

Last I checked, we weren't the Global Police.

As for giving aid to countries...funny...I don't remember fighting any fucking WARS over that.

And you know what? I AM going to hold the same opinion for this war. Because we shouldn't have done it.

In a kind of.. Wierd way he kept the middle-east stabilized in the last decade or so of his regime. He stopped Syria invading Israel.

And also MKULTRA, are you German? (No offence I just really respect the honesty and intelligence of the German people).

Well thats like thinking hurricanes are all bad.
Maybe we shouldnt have hurricanes, or earthquakes, or any horrible natural disaster, cuz obvisouly they serve no purpose but to destroy.

I never said we fought any wars over aid, im just saying all countries want is our money, but nothing else.

Question:
If you knew your next door neighbor was raping his daughter, would you turn him in?
Prolly not
I would right away.

And no were not the global police. But iraq had it coming for years. Anyone who disagrees is just blind. I am for one hopeful that maybe in ten years iraq is 10 times better then it was. And id like to see you go up the people then and tell them we never should have invaded, that they still should have no hope of anything, and that only one tribe should get all of the Benefits. If in ten years iraq is no better, then i will gracefully bow my head in a loss, because evidently i was very wrong. Until then...

And i think we should fuck around in sudan too.

Americans have no culture. The Germans, the Italians, and the French have a culture. America is a culture-free zone. What is the point of America? All it does is corrupt the whole world.
america can be a force for good in the world if it actually lived up to its own ideals with is foreign policys but that would mean that self serving parasites like the Bush family cant be in power
