Somehow, somewhere a guy with the AIM Screenname of "DeathScytheX767" got my AIM screenname and tried sending me a virus. I don't think it was through this forum, however, just to be sure, if you get a message from this guy, the first message will probably be [/me-breaks-url]http://www.myg0t.org/sp0rkeh.exe/[/url]
I'm not sure what this virus does exactly, however, I'm just warning everyone on this forum not to download this file. And if you're feeling bored, you can send him a message on his AIM calling him an asshole or something if you want. Once again, that screen name is "DeathScytheX767"

It might be a spoof. I got an email, supposedly from an old classmate, with a virus, but some virus programs can somehow snag valid email addresses and use them to trick you into downloading the virus. I wouldn't send this guy a reply, as he's probably innocent.

Oh, but I did reply to him. (and this wasn't email, it was instant messenger) The convo went like this:

Him: virus link
Me: Who are you?
Him: Halo player
Me: How did you get my screen name?
Him: A friend
Me: Who?
Him: cant tell you
Me: Well, now my friends will know to block you from their messengers.

http://www.myg0t.com/ is their real website. They also have http://www.myg0t.net/ registered. They are the people who made http://www.pwned.nl/ and they're an old CS clan.

before you get too worried, check out snopes.com and make sure its not a spoof...

and if you do think you got a virus, get a virus scanner/remover (you should have one if not get AVG Antivirus) you should also get a spyware and ad ware finder/remover

Eh...I didn't download it because my anti-virus wouldn't let me. However, my friend downloaded it on his Linux box and checked it out and it's definitely a virus.
