I can't eat or drink!

Letila

I was eating chicken when all of the sudden, I couldn't swallow it anymore. I have been vomiting mucus as well. I can't eat or drink anything since it seems to get stuck and feels very uncomfortable. I end up coughing it back up.

What do you think this is?

pretty likely an allergic reaction. see a doctor. seriously, it could become a case of airway constriction if you leave things unattended.

Doctor. Now. Go.

You probably just scratched your throat, but never mess around with airway issues.

Yeah, doctor. Other than that. . .energy drinks, smoothies, ice cream. Things that go down easy.

If it doesn't pass, get a second opinion. You might want to get one anyway. They never hurt.

I agree with everyone else, don't take chances with airway constrictions. Heartburn? That? BS.

No, Heartburn can hurt. It just usually doesn't produce a mucus unless it's more serious than that. Acid reflux, maybe?

Um... are you really posting on the General forums when you're sick and throwing up, asking for a medical diagnosis?

Interesting.

Yes sir.

*heads off to the polls*

Oh wait, they're closed right now. Said they won't open until November. In which time, I will be voting Democrat. Even though someone I don't know posted that they're sick and throwing up on the NS General forums.

I know heartburn can hurt. I was actually referring to second opinions when I said "they can't hurt."

Makes sense. She/he got a second, a third, a fourth and fifth opinion in no time. For free!

Next time when posting everyone remember to tell whether you're a doctor or studying in a medical school. Are there any good lawyers around? How 'bout carpenters? I need my bed's central support fixed.

It's probably from some disease the chicken had from growing up in poor filthy cramped conditions and being injected with hormones and steroids.

Your immune system will fight it off if you take care of yoruself. Second opinions are good though.

It's a bit late for that.

I haven't been able to drink anything for almost 24 hours now. I'm worried that I will dehydrate.

Dude, then you need to go back to the doctor and insist that he check you out and not take no for an answer. Don't be afraid of your doctor. You're paying them a pretty penny so make sure you get your money's worth.

I can now swallow drinks if I don't drink too much at once, so I don't think I'll have to worry about dehydration.

go to the hospital, not just a doctor's office. if you're having trouble eating or drinking, you really need medical attention.
