Wow--Even O'Reilly doesn't believe the Swift Boaters

Now, I'm no fan of O'Reilly--far from it as a matter of fact--but it seems that my father might have been right when he said "Even a dog's ass gets lucky once in its life." Go figure. (http://www.billoreilly.com/currentarticle)

First off, I believe Jim Rassmann when he says that Kerry saved his life by pulling him out of a Vietnam river while under fire. Rassmann is a former Green Beret, a former police officer and a long time registered Republican until earlier this year. If he says John Kerry is a hero, nobody should doubt it. Rassmann has earned the right to be trusted and insulting his testimony is way out of line.

Yeah--O'Reilly also believes Gardner, who accuses Kerry of writing up a false report--but the idea that even O'Reilly notes that the Swift Boat Veterans for Bush's tactics might well backfire on them is at least worth noting.

I just like how Hannity keeps going on about how if anybody says the Swift Boaters are wrong, they're "calling hundreds, maybe thousands, of veterans, heroes, PATRIOTS, liars"- yet, essentially, that's exactly what THOSE guys are already doing by saying Kerry and all his crewmates are lying.

... Dumb-ass.

I have to admit, I was shocked and a little concerned when it turned out that O'Reilly and I were on the same side of an issue.

Jon Stewart's take on it was fantastic if you saw that episode of "Daily Show."

Pretty much all the accusations against Kerry are all crap, and dont add up.

The site listed below is a non-partisan organization dedicated to shed the truth on media spin by both sides.
They have looked into it and say that its crap.

A tangent -- my father might have been right when he said "Even a dog's ass gets lucky once in its life."

I'm going to need an explanation for this expression. I mean, I know what it means, but WHY does it mean it? (How would a dog's ass get lucky, I think is my question.)

...I know I sound really thick right now. In my defense, I am pre-caffine.

Don't sweat it--it's one of those colloquialisms that probably made sense way back when someone first said it and has held onto just enough of the original meaning so that you think you still get it, but aren't completely sure.

Wish I could have voted, but the option, "The swift boat stuff doesn't matter, I still don't like Kerry," wasn't available.

Incidentally, for those that want to see the start of this long-running fued, C-Span has made the video from the town-hall meeting when Kerry and O'Neil first tangled available online.

Go to www.c-span.org, and type "Kerry 1971" into the grey box marked Video Search and you will be able to access it.

If somebody has already posted this.... well, I haven't been around for a few days.
