This is a photo of me LOLz! I'm playing nationstates since March 2003 so that makes me 1) 2 cool 4 n00bz 2) automaticly a d0pe ass roleplayer and 3) BIG! Writing in many different styles is an obvious sign of EXPERIENCE AND SKILL! Oh yeah, I write OOC messages really small it makes it VERY clear for the people it is an OOC message ROFL! omg wtf!

This is a picture taken of me. I'm playing NationStates since August 2004 and that makes me 1) A rather n00bish person. 2) A rarely esteemed roleplayer and 3) I'm still quite small which makes me vulnerable to attack of persons described above. I think it's rather obnoxious to write in either: bold, underlined or italic when there's no purpose to. OOC messages can be written in bold and it's easy to read while I don't have to get my reading glasses!

Example #2

WAR!!! I send 10 million and a half troops to you! I dont care about logistical difficulties! Never mind rational explanation!!! I AM BIG! HAHAHAHA I SEND LOTS OF MEN TO YOU! YEAH RESISTANCE IS FRUITLESS SINCE YOU ARE DEAD! I AM WHATEVER BILLION AND YOU ARE UNDER 1 BILLION! I win. PERIOD!!!!

ooc: lol dude u cant win so better give up now!

I would like to make a declarion of war upon you Nation X for you have violated international (70000 words later...) And therefore I feek that we should start peace talks. In the interest of stability and above all, peace I am forced to withdraw my proposal for peace because... What the hell I am ignoring you. This isn't fair.

OOC: I'm going to rally some allies first, let my nation grow to 1 billion and make a gimmick alliance and then I'll attack you!

Example #3

'But I live on the other side of Amer...'

I only have allies who are roughly equal in size. Don't mind their army they can never harm a big nation... Sucks to be small and new eh? I'll try to defend myself anyway but seeing he's many times bigger than me and I'm horribly outnumbered things look pretty damn bad for me. NationStates is only fun for the big nations indeed. Sigh...

What have we learned from this?
Size does matter in NationStates. I hate it where people are labelled as superpower simply because they won a few wars and are bigger than the average roleplayer on the forum. I don't consider myself small but I'm beginning to hate the fact that 'the biggest rule'. Hell, how many times did a small nation stood a chance against a big one? When didn't it end in ignore and flames? Names like Fascist White States, Austo-Hungary pop up in my mind. The so called 'examples' of a superpower. I have no grudge against AMF, I hate the stereotyping of big nations who are immeadiately a superpower. Wait, I killed Cam III and defended my land twice of a major invasion. Doesn't that make me a superpower? No, of course not since I'm not writing how the admiral picks his nose or whipes his ass on the battleship.

You know what I really hate? I'm trying to do something different like writing a story (yes I did) and you know what you get for it? Nothing. Not a single reply. But when somebody like the mods or the superpowerrs post it gets hell of a lot more popular. What is wrong with you people?

Amazing how size DOES matter in NationStates and to be frank, it's annoying a lot more people than you might think.

Excellent use of idiotic stereotypes.

Because, of course, there are no good role-players of size, and all new nations are actually master role-players, they just don't get any respect because all us early '03 / late '02 nations are a bunch of elitist rat bastards.

Loosest damn definition of "satire" I've ever seen...

Good question. Maybe your RP sucks. Maybe people aren't interested in it. Maybe your timing just sucks. Maybe, just maybe, certain players have a long history of writing fantastic posts, so that when they start a new one people are interested.

But, no... I'm sure it's just because you're only 9 months old.

As you can see by my post count and my founded date, I don't post much, but I lurk a lot. I see a lot of threads by a lot of people who rarely get a responce. Some of them are old nations too.

Face it: this forum has well over a million posts in thousands of threads. You can't expect everyone to fall all over themselves just because you made a post, and you shouldn't be surprized that people didn't notice it.

Hell, it's not like the "major players" noticing is always a good thing. I've got a thread with the interest of both Menelmacar and Melkor, who are both mods and superpowers.

And you know what?

They haven't posted in a couple weeks.

It ain't always a blessing, ace.

I couldn't agree more, my "nation" (actually race) is not all that large, yet I consider myself to be a very good roleplayer. I also possess my own unique style as well.

The three examples are the satire, the last part is my own opinion on this matter. I think the whole therm 'superpower' is overrated. Granted, a nation can be strong but classing it to be world dominating is pure nonsense.

Maybe my RP does suck. But you have to admit threads who are made by the 'superpowers' tend to be more popular.
