You've got your phenomenon on one hand. Concrete and knowable. On the other hand you've got the incomprehensible. You call it God, but to me, God or no, it remains just that, the unknowable.Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess

there is no proof of any gods or goddesses (not saying there isn't any) but without verifiable evidence, the simple truth is that no one knows (therefor I call myself agnostic) meaing without knowledge of any gods.

(just for those of you who do not clearly know what agnostic means)

Agnosticism is a concept, not a religion. It is a belief related to the existence or non-existence of God.

An agnostic is a person who feels that God's existence can neither be proved nor disproved, on the basis of current evidence. Agnostics note that some theologians and philosophers have tried to to prove, for millennia, that God exists. Others have attempted to prove that God does not exist. Neither side has convincingly succeeded at their task.

atheist. the lack of evidence for gods and goddesses screams out for explanation, and the only justifiable explanation to hold is that there is no evidence because they just don't exist. exactly the same reasoning i use to disbelieve in invisible pink unicorns who live in my closet.

Agnostic, which is in my opinion the only intelligent option: no one can prove that there is a god or not.

However, as long that there is no evidence that a god exists, no religion should be taken into account when making laws. So, without evidence of a god, it should not be possible to forbid e.g. gay marriage using religious arguments.
It's crazy to follow the word of someone if you don't have evidence (real evidence, not 'I know because I felt his presence') he/she/it exists.

I'm atheist. Religion was started when someone decided that the sun was more than a great ball of fire. Of course, that's understandable for someone who hasn't discovered fire yet...but once we start nearing 1000 BC, it just got ridiculous. Religion came cavemen out of worshipping weather, but noone seems to notice that anymore.

Theist, but willing to admit I might be wrong (something that seems rare on both sides). IMHO, "religious" refers to something different, so I tend to be very particular about using it and carefully define it when I do.
