I think the point is that some people, often barely older than kids themselves have their own kids - you know...thise slutty 12-17 year olds who think its cool to get knocked up...etc...

not always so slutty. the following are also reasons: guy didn't want protection, parents won't allow abortion or adoption, or the girl didn't feel loved and she wanted a baby so someone would love her.
sadly, that last one happens a lot where i live.

HEY! I resent that. True, those people exist, but not all teen pregnancies are "slutty 12-17 year olds", nor do most of them think it's "cool to get knocked up". There are many other reasons that a teenager might decide to have sex, and I also notice that you imply that 16- and 17-year-olds, who are LEGALLY considered old enough to have sex and you know how constrictive the legal system is, should not. I agree that in many cases, your scenario applies. However, I feel like you're making too many generalizations and assumptions.
