Welcome aboard - hope you enjoy our lil corner of the 'net, however insane it might seem sometimes.
A heads up - might be easier getting to know folks if you dabble a bit in some rp's, check the sticky above for some mIRC action, eh, that sort of thing. There's plenty of threads, depending on your interests - anything from fantasy, to far future in levels of tech etc, and from folks who are into the OMG WAR thing all the time, to those who don't play nations at all, just characters.
If you're into the rp aspect of it, read a bit. Take some time to see what you like and all. Then see where you might have some opportunities to join. Take it a bit at a time, ease into things, find out what you like - and above all, have fun with it.
Yes, I'm rambling a bit, realize ... but hey. And oh yeah - while good advice comes a dime a dozen around here, and everyone seems to have an opinion on what to do and how to do it, just take it all with a grain o' salt, see what things work for you and ... yeah. Enjoy.
Best of luck on it - remember, there's other forums as well for questions and all, depending on what you need.
