Handball...an olympic sport...seems a lot more like a college intramural...one that I'll be doing...
I had heard that team handball was a sport.
What does handball entail? And what is college intramural?

Just like basketball doesnt deserve to be an Olympic sport, or Synchronized Diving, or Beach Volleyball or Shooting, etc etc.

My fiance and I were watching today, at different times, and I was like "OMG! That's so freaking cool! What is it?" She said the same, so, we looked it up, and we're like, "I WANT TO PLAY THAT!!!"

handball rules. i used to play it when i was a kid - the ymca by me has the largest and best youth handball program in the country. i've known a couple of people that placed really well in junior nationals. oh yeah, and one that very nearly won the junior world championship last year.
Is handball the same as squash? [doesn't have cable, doesn't watch TV, doesn't see olympics]

Okay, here is the low down on Olympic Handball...it's not what most Americans typically think of (racquetball without paddles) (ya know...the 2 person game of tennis in the room against the wall...). Handball is like soccer, but it is played inside, on a hard court (like basketball). You don't use your feet (although I think you can), you don't have to dribble (but you can), and you try getting a ball (about the size of a dodgeball) into a goal that looks just like a soccer goal. If the University of Arkansas doesn't have any sort of Handball program set up I'll probably be working on getting one started there soon...
