Any comment that ventures into criticizing Israel's policies is immediately thrown into the "anti-semitic comment" garbage can . . . This tendency makes me want to laugh and cry.

Anyhow, I believe there has been a deliberate victimization of "Jewishness" that has taken the form of the New Jewish Identity. Before you lecture me with Holocaust material, I want to remind you that the Holocaust was hardly a unique event. My point is, Jewish suffering (most peoples have had their not-so-publicized holocausts, but most don't seem to care much about those) has been manipulated and exploited in order to give Israel and the American Jewish lobby some sort of political immunity.

It is an UNTRUTH that all statments relating to israels policies are anti-semitic. I wonder if criticising bush is anti-cristian?

but have jews NOT been persecuted since before the disruction of the temple by the romans? In the year 70 a group of people, Jews, lost their land and national identity. And they were persecuted until this day. and in 1948 they got back their state. A big achivment. But it came after the loss of

people. I dont think thats a huge loss do you? to a people that even now has only 12 million people worldwide? Ity changed the mindset of a people. It did the same thing 9/11 did to every american. Jews saw the world differently after that and finally after 2000 years took up arms. Not just literally but with words.

Yes. If tabbacco can have a lobby and snack foods can and Native americans and african americans and even animals can have lobbies---

I have a good friend who's Jewish, however you'd never know by talking to him - while he does believe the Holocaust was terrible (who doesnt?), he doesn't go bitching about it like some of the Jewish peers at our school do. Nor does he think The Passion of the Christ is anti-semetic. And he's also anti-Israeli

I actually have a few Jewish friends who are totally disgusted with the positions Israel takes. Does this mean they hate their culture? Of course not, it's no different then all the Anti-American administration threads we see. Just because you happen to be an American doesn't mean you agree or even like your current administration. This seems to be the same feeling of my Jewish friends towards Israel. I'm not Jewish, but I fully agree with them.

What is Zion? Zion was the fort guarding Salem used by the previous occupants before King David and co overran Salem. Salem was renamed Jerusalem and well Zion is well and alive in Christian-Judiac terminology eg New Zion in the Matrix ...
