...who would win, and I don't just mean a wild prediction? Go to this site:

and pick by state.
Unfortunately, I have Bush winning 281-257, since i don't have him taking any of the swing states (OH, FL, or potentially John Edwards' home state of NC, any of which could give Kerry the election.)

Bush won in this simulation?
Good, then America will still be strong...

There's a better calculator at www.uselectionatlas.org
Also, go to www.electoral-vote.com , which keeps track of current polls from each state and currently shows Kerry winning handily.

A poll was done that showed if the election was held today...most Americans would be very surprised.

Later in the election season I might have an NS electoral college pool for those who care to be amused briefly...in any case, I have read some simulations that have Kerry winning and some that have Bush winning. It almost always goes on the swing states, including OH and FL...and I would say ESPECIALLY OH and FL.

Heh ... that has Michael Badnarik winning in the mock election.
Everyone in the US knows that Libertarians stay away from the voting booth in record numbers.

Under most scenarios I've read, if the election were held today, Kerry would win handily. But that's really meaningless, since Kerry has had his convention and his bounce, there haven't been any debates (though I doubt that works in Bush's favor), and Bush hasn't had his convention yet.
The fun will really start post-convention when the debates start, and when the ad money from both sides starts flowing fast and furious. Since I'm not in a swing state--California will vote for the ghost of Nixon before they go for Bush--I'll miss most of the tv ads. Well, I won't miss them, but you get the idea.
