so who do you think doesn't get the credit they deserve?


i'm going with gary farmer i love him in almost everything i've seen him in. especially "powwow highway" and "dead man".

Kirsten Dunst is seriously under-rated. She is among the only young actresses who can actually act, instead of relying on their bodily endowments to hold-up their roles.
A lot of people says her acting is wooden, but I think its one of two things:

i) A very limiting script/character
eg. Playing Mary-Jane Watson on Spider-Man is nought more than a love interest and a classic damsel in distress (she does very well as both)

ii)Limited experience in adult roles (I'm not talking about porn 'adult')
eg. All her roles so far play very young persons, so she lacks a bit of age depth, but we're seeing that improving.

Personally, I think she's going to go on through to be the next Meg Ryan (if not better than her). Its the same sparkle in the eye, the same million Watt smile and the same love-struck look at the right moments.

i definitely like her, i'm not sure she's really under rated, just a bit untested, but a real rising star.

Oh, forgot to mention. If you want to see a less restricted character played by Kirsten Dunst. Try watching 'Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind' and 'Crazy/Beautiful'. You'd see, she's much more than just a teen-flick whore.

Hope Davis springs to mind. Amazing actress, doesn't get a whole lot of work.

Two immediately spring to mind, for their ability to never quite look the same person in any movie:
Cliff Curtis.
For a Maori boy he's played an astonishing range of characters:
an Iraqi freedom fighter (Amir Abdullah, Three kings), a South American terrorist (Claudio Perrini, Collateral Damage), a South American drug lord(Pablo Escobar, Blow), a dug dealer (Smiley, Traning day), a juror (Frank Herrera, Runaway Jury), another drug dealer (Cy Coates, Bringing out the Dead) and of course a Maori (Uncle Bully, Once were Warriors and Porourangi, Whale rider).

and:

Stellan Starsgard.
A Norwegian this time and one of my favourite actors, ever, for his performances:
A whale-hunter (Randbæk, Kjærlighetens kjøtere[Zero Kelvin]), a professor(Gerald Lambeau, Good Will Hunting), a KGB agent (Gregor, Ronin), a scientist(Jim Whitlock, Deep Blue Sea), a priest (Father Merrin, Exorcist: The Beginning)
& of course all his work with Lars Von Trier (Breaking the Waves, Dancer in the Dark, Dogsville).

John Spencer, Liev Schreiber, Bradley Whitford, Tim Matheson, Richard Schiff, and Allison Janney.

John Wayne was the most underrated actor.

Ron Jeremy is also underrated. The warthog can be quite funny.

jm is usually very good but he never seems to be in anything commerial except as a villian. mf can be excellent, but his choice of rules can be a bit iffy.

John Wayne was the most underrated actor.

Ron Jeremy is also underrated. The warthog can be quite funny.Not to be nitpicky, but it's the Hedgehog. And I agree completely. He's no great shakes as an actor, but he's a hell of an interesting guy. Did you ever see the documentary made about him? Fascinating.

I don't know if you can say John Wayne is underrated. The guy won an Oscar and is one of the legends of filmdom--what more do you want?

Three words: Billy Dee Williams

An actress who I absolutely love, and I don't see much of is Minnie Driver.

i love william h. macy, he's starting to get more credit. frances mcdormand won are academy award and she's still under rated(fargo which ruled being the most obvious connection betweeen them)

Camui Gackt

I think Gary Oldman is far underated, he is one of the best actors of this generation.
I place him with greatest of all time actually.

Tim Roth is absolutlely brilliant, yet he is chronically underated.

I know there are more I just cant think of nakes right now, mainly because they are underrated so dont hear much them.

Brad Pitt is underrated in mainstream media as a prettyboy, he can put on some wonderful roles far beyond what the average prettyboy could.
