the Most Badass Scene in Movie History
Definately the chainsaw scene in Scarface... What do you think?
I cant say for certain.
BUt I will give two.
ONe is in John Carpenter's Precint 13.
Little girls walks up to Ice Cream truck and asks
"Can I have a Swirly cone please?"
Bad guy on the other side of the truck does a "no look" shot thru the window into little girls chest on the other side drops her Dead As Dickens.
The second is in Natural born KIllers
They are in the interveiw room in the prison.
Woody is telling the little Johnny joke, as reaches the climax of the joke and shouts "Little Johnny NO!!!" as everyone starts to laugh he elbows a guard in the face, disarms another, what makes the scene is not the action perse' rather it is the music cut-in when his elbow hits the officer in the mouth- The signature grunt of Zach De le Rocha kicks into gear with a perfect Rage Against the Machine song, the best music cut-in in hollywood in my opinion.

Has anyone seen "Payback"? I think the scene where Porter is standing behind the hitmen's car and casually throws his cigarette down and blows them up is a pretty damn badass scene.
oh oho oh
King of New York
Lawrence FIshburn is dealing with comumbians.
He hands them a brief case which is supposed to be full of money.
He sets the case on the table and turns it towards the columbian.
The Columbian opens the case and it is full of tampons.
"What the hell are all these tampons for?!!"
To which Fishburns character replies
"The bullet holes puta."
and you can guess what happens next.
Mean Guns.
The scene where they hand everyone baseball bats.
Gone in 60 seconds.

The 7 minute long fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David in John Carpenter's "They Live".
However, I have a feeling that the fight between Obiwan Kenobi and Anikan Skywalker in the upcoming Revenge of the Sith is gonna be epic.
The shoot-out after the bank robbery in "Heat".
When Mr. Blond is torturing the cop. He turns the radio to KBLLY with Steven Wright as the DJ who introduces "Stuck in the Middle." Mr. Blond does a sort of dance walk before slicing off the police officer's left ear and then gets gasoline from his trunk to burn him.

I know scar face front to back.
The CHainsaw scene isnt even the best scene in that movie.
There is the scene where the guy is hung from the helicopter and Tony
"I neva trus 'im"
OR
"Do you know what a hassa is frank?
A hassa is a pig what dont fly straight.
PLease tony, please dont kill me!!!
"I not gunna kill you frank,"
Frank mumbles some thanks
"Manalo, choot dis piece a shit."
Both of those scenes are far better then the chainsaw.
or when tony kills the columbian hit man in the car.
Priceless.
Scarface is simply an unfair movie for this thread.

Oooh how about the scene in Godfather 2... where Vito travels back to Corleone, Sicily...
And he comes up to the Don who murdered his father, and says that he wants his blessings to start an olvie oil company back in America... but since the Don is pretty much deaf... When the Don asks the real name of Vito Andolini, Vito whispers it. So he motions Vito to come closer... and then Vito says... My name is Vito Andolini and he guts the old Don with a knife. Right across his fat belly!
Just plain awesome...

Have you seen the original?!!??
The original given the era of its release is far more "over the top"
That is the intention.
And the subtlty of the film is amazing.
A very layered piece of work.
A pity you only see gun shots and big booms.

He did that on purpose. I think the reason was to lighten the atmosphere a bit, sort of a tongue in cheek joke. It was either make it not so graphic (impossible! it's a Tarrantino flick.) or go totally over the top.

The scene in Seven Samurai where you see Kyuzo for the first time in the duel. Guy runs at him, katana above his head (Seven Samurai had the most badass swords ever, longer things than normal movie samurai), Kyuzo stands there, flick of the sword, all of a sudden the guy is dead.
