Clemenza from Godfather is an honorable mention.

And yes Vader is also a honorable mention

No, but you can't deny the badassness of Vader.

Also, I think Indiana Jones qualifies for consideration. He was a pretty awesome badass.

Vader is a badass, no doubt. All he had to do was say he was some kid's father to make him scream in agony and emotional anguish.

Just because of that horrible "pit fight" scene I think he's disqualified... I guess it wasn't his fault but... damn that was a horribly done battle scene.

And what about Denzel Washington in 'Training Day' or better yet in 'Man on Fire' - how many other badasses stick some C4 up a guy's ass to make him talk?

Then is it rasist when you say a white person instead of German American or French American or English American?

God, how could I forget Chopper! He was a complete fruit-loop Badass.
I think we need to qualify what Badass means. For me it's total lack of respect for the other person and not caring a damn for their suffering. Also being a complete psycho nutcase helps. You also need to have a bit of style and some good lines.
Hence Chopper
and Denzel's characters in Man-on-fire and Training Day.
and Don Logan from Sexy Beast.
and anything Sammy Jackson does that's Tarrantino-esque.
and anything Christopher Walken does.
and anything Dennis Hopper does.
And anything Joe Pesci does that's gangster-oriented (remember the pen scene from Goodfellows? Ouch!)
And some things Jack Nicolson's done.

Kurtz, is the badass.
If you are talking straight human non-science fiction badasses.
Colonel Kurtz is it.
He turns that movie into a surreal horror film.
Which that film by the way is better with the deleted scenes- remaining deleted.
