Ooh, ooh! Me, me!

Ok, well, I'm not in a band anymore really. I was in band all through middle and high school. And since then I've been playing in a flute choir - which I guess is sorta kinda in a way like a band.

Of course, I prefer the term "band nerd."

Eh, USC's Trojan Marching Band members aren't really referred to as "geeks" around campus, so I'm not sure if I'd count or not.

Ok, so, tenor sax first year (7th grade), bari sax next, alto sax next in freshmen/marching/jazz band. Last year I did Alto/tenor for concert, alto for marching, tenor jazz. This year: trombone (learning) in concert, tenor in symphonic, bari sax in marching band, and (hopefully) alto in Jazz.
Also want to learn flute/clarinet from my GF (band geek...actually, band AND guard geek) too, just for kicks. How much of a band geek/nerd am I?
Also, gonna major in music, be a band teacher :D

Well, I do play tenor sax (jazzy styly, of course) but I wouldn't consider myself a band geek.

We always called them "band fags;" apparently, we were much crueler than most.

Trombone 5-12th grade. Band was only one class in my HS, so I marched in the fall, concert the rest of the year. 3 yrs pep band, 3 years jazz band, 1 year orchestra, which only consisted of one spring musical.

College, marching (t-bone), concert (t-bone, euphonium), brass choir( t-bone, tuba), indoor drumline (accessories), trombone choir, men's chorus. And for you baritoners, I got the solo for Holst's 2nd.

Currently playing drums and singing for praise band at church. Haven't picked up a horn for over a year.

definitely...i am not only a "bando" (as we call ourselves at my school), I'm the leader of the bandos...just finished drum major camp last week. But other than that, I play the french horn (5th year) and cello (6th year)...as well as many other instruments that I don't perform with. I've been in every band (aka. jazz, pep, concert, marching) there is at school, as well as the orchestra. w00t for bandos everywhere.

before graduating, I was a band nerd. :D

I made the mistake of choosing to play oboe in symphonic band, and suffered graver misfortune in being the best one in high school, which meant that my parents wouldn't dream of letting me quit, or lose my place. I wondered why I thought I sounded so bad when I played, so I listened to some professional oboe music and realized that hey! oboe just sucks, no matter who you are. :D

I far prefer to play mallets, guitar, bass, and especially piano. I'm old....I've been playing piano for many a year.

Oh, and jazz piano...bwahahaha. :) don't even get me started.

Bottom right of the post you want to quote.

or, [.quote=(person's name]blah blah[/quote] (without the period in the first one.
Or, for a quote without their name, take out the =whoever.

Oboe is really good for scholarships though. I mean, no one plays it. Bassoon is the same way.
