Ok, I have frequently heard that profiling against muslims is racist. Well, I disagree because Islam isn't a race. It's a religion. Some sects in the religion are similar in many respects to racist groups like the Ku Klux Klan. They want to use violence and terror to intimidate civilians and government officials alike. Why wouldn't it be ok to use the FBI to infiltrate and attack those radical islamic sects like the FBI did against the Klan?

Maybe you are unaware of what racial profiling is. It does not mean infiltrating extremist muslim sects, it means searching people at airports simply because they LOOK like they might be muslim. It means giving cop the leeway to pull someone over for "driving while Black" Its wrong, and is not necessary for infilitrating extremist groups.

Good point. I phrased my post wrong. Still, people seem to get really angry whenever someone talks about infiltrating a radical mosque.

Hey, don't get me wrong ... I'm all for religious profiling. After all, there have been far more acts of terrorism perpetrated by Christians than there ever have been by Muslims ....

However, the problem with the idea of profiling "Muslims" is that it is impossible to know what they look like. The problem is the automatic red flag put up on people from the middle east. If you look even remotely semitic, then you're boned.

Nobody cares about the large amount of white muslims. After all, when we see a white guy, he must be Christian, right? :rolleyes:

Its only a problem when they bust in the back door and cause rukus for no good reason. Most mosques have open doors, like churches, you don't need ot infilitrate it, you can just walk in.
