Politics...

Is it just me, or do politics these days resemble you average stereotypical church in a movie?
The minister/pastor/whatever you call it, says something, then the entire congregation shouts things like 'Amen!' and cheers etc. If a passing Jew happens to wander in he is berrated with millions of arguements as to why he is wrong, all of which are totaly futile because he was raised in a Jewish family, in a Jewish neighborhood and works for a Jewish boss.
At this point an Atheist appears and begin shouting at the whole bunch about how dumb they are for not seeing the obvious.
And an agnostic sits downtown in a Cafe enjoying his coffee and considering why everybody is argueing when they could all just have some coffee, or if they happen to be Mormon, a fruit drink.

This is not a perfect analogy, in fact, most of it from the first two sentences downward is comic relief, except for the Jew part.

Naturally, no offence to any Jews, Atheists or Agnostics.
Since Im Babptist, I feel I am permitted to make fun of my own religion. ;)

We call them priests, thank you. And you rarely hear any cheering during the ceremony.

Politics is the art of telling people what they want to hear....I don't think religion is the same way. But it is a good analogy.

Oh, and what's a babptist?

I enjoy(ed) it. Both the post and politics.

Highly entertaining...I rather like the Agnostic, reminds me of me...even though I'm not Agnostic!!!

Say, I have a friend who wants to be baptist...

My question is, what makes Baptist better than the rest of the religions...and/or, what makes Baptist the right religion for you?

Thunderland, I was refering to what you usualy see in a movie/TV show.
And yes, while you dont hear much cheering/Amening during a sermon, its all good.
And we call them pastors :P

Valderixia, the main reason Im Babptist rather than say, Catholic, is because most of my family is Babptist, and I was raised Babptist.
Plus I dont want to learn Lating :)
