Assault on Najaf

Okay, we all know the U.S. is planning to invade Najaf and Al-Sadr's forces soon, right?

Good.

We all know that Al-Sadr's forces are in the city's Imam Ali Shrine, one of the holiest sites in Shiite Islam, right?

We all know what'll happen if we dare to touch that thing with a bullet or bomb it, right?

We all know Iraqis are already on our case for THINKING about invading, right?

But wait...THEY'RE the ones in the shrine. THEY'RE the ones causing all this trouble. THEY'RE the ones who could've picked anywhere else to fight Americans, but chose this cheap spot.

Can someone tell me, as I am a Muslim, why the Americans are supposedly at fault? Because that's what it seems to be.

Every middle eastern government has used the US as a scapegoat for why their people are suffering. This big lie has been repeated for so long that arabs automatically blame the US for any problem. It's a pavlovian reaction.
The US troops should simply cut water and food supplies to the mosque, and wait for the insurgents to surrender or die.

Form a 360 degree line around Najaf with night and day patrols, kill anything going in or out. Let shipments of food searched and cleared go in and out.

Of course they could have already done this.

I think that it is the only chance that al-Sadr has: to hide in the Iman Ali shrine so that it forces the US to attack it. This causes Muslims the world over to get angry. It's cowardly if you ask me, but hey, it works. And as long as terrorists pull shit like this off, then the safety of anything can't be guranteed.
