Hope you enjoy it. With global warming, you'll be seeing a lot more of them, more frequently and stronger as well as longer time periods where they may strike. :)

"Global warming" is a myth, based on junk science and conjecture.

By that logic we should be getting hit all the time....1992 was the last one to hit us.

Alright, defend the statement....

Alright, defend the statement....
I don't have to prove that it is NOT happening, you have to prove that it IS.
Besides, I've done that one to death here, and I don't feel like doing this :headbang: right now.

Alright, defend the statement....
Here we go....bottom line. We have no idea about the weather patterns of this planet over a long period of time.
Could it not be possible that every 10,000 years the earth gets warmer for a number of years? We have no idea. One thing we DO know is that volcanoes produce a HUGE amount of greenhouse gasses and at one time there were thousands of active volcanoes spewing millions of tons of these gasses into the atmosphere. Yet life endured for some reason....
Have faith in the plankton, for it will provide all the oxygen the planet needs. ;)

It certainly isn't a myth, but it is obviously overhyped. How's that?
I mean, it IS a fact that overall average temperatures are increasing.

Any one over the age of 30 knows that the weather where they live has changed quite dramatically since when we were kids. That's a fact. It's also not make believe that the ice-caps in the Arctic are melting.. so, myth my ass.

But in all seriousness...global warming is happening. Go find the old thread for my evidence, I don't feel like re-writing it.

That would be almost as cool as if M-x posted.

You're going to base your case regarding long-term global climate change on your life span? What a joke!

Hmm well, when the earth had volcanos spewing out gazillions of greenhouse gasses, the average temperatures WERE hotter. No one said life couldn't survive global warming, of course it can. Although it remains to be seen whether a particular multicellular species can adapt to all the changes, both warming and otherwise.

Lol it has been. Nothing can ever be conclusively proven. You only have your own standard of proof. Some peoples standards can be a bit biased.

I got caught in a hurricane in the North Atlantic coming back to Canada from Europe in '76... it was a small cruise liner and the ships photographer took a pic from the flying bridge of the entire bow of the boat buried in a wave up to where the superstructure starts. It was a hell of a ride. For three days, there was a betting pool on what percentage of the passengers would actually show up for any given meal.....
Enjoy the show, and I hope that your roof remains co-located with the rest of your house.... :)

Wow for such a "well" educated person, your methods of deduction are quite retarded. I mean since you are almost a PhD you might have come up with a more logical arguement for global warming.

uh...no, the ice caps are melting. i don't know if you know anything about the island of tuvalu, and you probably don't care, but it's disappearing because water levels are rising.
