Now we all remember this little doozey don't we:

"I believe in NATO, American is part of North America... I believe in the EU, America is part of Europe"

But it seems old Bush has one-upped himself with this one:

"Terrorists are powerfull and reasourceful, and so are we. Terrorist never stop thiking of ways to harm our people, and neither do we"

Darn right!

The man (GW) has a Bachelor's degree from Yale and an MBA from Harvard, he's not dumb. Granted, he's not the stud-horse public speaker that Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan was, but that doesn't make him dumb.

I spend a large part of my day on the phone talking and sitting in meetings talking with people and I can tell you I misspeak on a daily basis. I graduated (proudly) Magna Cum Laude from Northwestern University, class of 96' and I'm pretty sure my colleagues don't think I'm dumb.

It's amazing to me that after 4 years now, some of you out there are still harping on GW every time he misspeaks. Do you hold yourself to that standard?

True, 1 out of every 5 sentences I make is awfully flawed. [/Sarcasm]

There's a bit of a difference between one of us making a misstatement in our everyday lives and the POTUS making a misstatement in a prepared speech. I've seen the video--it seems pretty clear that this was an ad-lib gone wrong, but it simply underlines the point that this president is unable to think on his feet.

As to the education bit, if ever there were proof that an Ivy League education is not proof of exceptional intelligence, this guy is it. I said it on another thread--just because a guy goes to a couple of great schools doesn't preclude him from being a nitwit.

Firstly, don't assume you know anything of my political leanings. You have read two sentences of mine and are convinced that I am a democrat! You're wrong from the get-go, sir. My own political leanings are right of centre and predominantly of the libertarian flavour. Your own prejudice betrays you! Anyone who attacks or dislikes GWB the man or his ideas, in your eyes, is a democrat. You overlook the cold and simple fact that democrats (or "libbies" or "Commies", or "Libtards" or "whiners" as you probably call them in circles where your words are less likely to be scrutinised) are not the only body of opinion which opposes most, if not all, of the policies, words and actions of the current administration. GWB and his team have drawn the ire of everyone not associated with the extreme right. This is odd, as GWB's policies are more those of a dictatorial socialist republic with capitalist leanings. The only other world leader I can think of with the same confused and unworkable slant is Mugabe!!

Secondly, I'll tell you that I make no judgements whatsoever of the ability, responsibility, intelligence or courage of conviction of anyone based on their academic acheivement. My own education is to degree level (MA, MSc, PhD), and was not particularly taxing. A lot of my friends do not have the same educational paperwork, but some make me feel inadequate through simple and forthright thinking with a healthy dose of common sense. I also know of many people who claim the same even though their qualifications were bought. This happens, and it sucks. Qualifications are worthless unless you actually learn something from the experience, and I view GW Bush as one who has learned nothing. He is socially, politically, theologically, verbally, personally, financially and totally irresponsible. He is uneducated, unbalanced, prejudiced, thoughtless, arrogant, pompous and his utter lack of global popularity and respect is unequaled since Nixon. Lest we forget, his academic achievements are , in some eyes, eclipsed by "the man"'s proven ineptitude and untrustworthyness in his previous business and personal deals.

I, too "misspeak" occasionally, but not when it matters and not with the frequency of Mr G W Bush Jr. I DO hold myself to that standard, since you ask. I achieve it too!

I don't, however, mislead. All politicians do this to a certain extent. GWB does it habitually and his inability to speak publically is mostly, I am certain, down to him having to remember lies he has told before whilst trying to ad-lib, at which he's not good to begin with.

GWB isn't actually evil, but is a danger as there is nothing he won't do if allowed, and; right now; there is nothing he isn't allowed to do. There is nothing more threatening to humanity than this. My opinion is that America and the world will benefit from GWB's removal from office.

Thank you.

I rather hope there IS a way to argue it, however.

That's what I'm here for. The arrogance in thinking one's own views are the standard by which everyone else should think is that which I hope will fall by the wayside and that which I work to dispel.

If you're not eligible, will you ever?

I did not hear this so.... don't have a go if i'm wrong.
But it does make a kind of sense. "Terrorist never stop thiking of ways to harm our people, and neither do we". You have to see yourselves as the terrorists in order to prevent future attacks don't you.
