Since the arrival on the Jolt servers, Ive noticed a much more relaxed tone towards profanity.
Words like shit and even the f-bomb, are tolerated now, as on the other place, you'd have a mod on you for that.

Is the policy of Jolt different than that of NS, and thus supercedes Barry?

Or have the mods just lightened up a little, since no one really abuses it anymore?

Combination of the two. The word replacement for swears didn't transfer over, and we've been too concerned with other things to worry about the occational "fuck".

Of course, if it goes too far and gets too bad, well... we can always crack down again.

Oh, I think the fact that Jolt has this: :upyours: smilie, shows that they're more lax, too.

Well...

I guess thats good enough for me.

I did have to wonder, becuase the attitude towards those words has been much more lax since the switch.

As for me, It doesnt bother me in the least, in fact, it kind of nice to know that if I feel the urge to swear up a small storm, that nobody will have a pepeleptic fit.

Hee, it's not like we all agreed with the swear filter to begin with.

I never really felt inhibited by a lack of profanity. I'm not above a little swearing, I just consider myself creative enough to go without.

Nice to know I can enhoy a good 'fuck' every once in a while though.

*blink*

AHHH-hahahaha!!! :D

The difference is now instead of the occasional 'f---' in my posts you now get the occasional 'fuck'. OMG NOES!

Well,I try not to swear too much anyway,as it gives people a reason to ignore you or write you off.
But I did feel oppressed with the filter.
And I've been "F**king" for so long,I just wanted a quick "FUCK!!"
There,wew! thats better!

Yus. Don't hold back on the four-letter words. Don't let Lenny Bruce's death be in vain (too late prevent it being 'in vein')!

Well, in casual conversation, I tend to cuss like a sailor ...

So, heh ... shrug. I'm pretty indifferent.
