And WOW. I've never seen a game which such amazing graphics and gameplay!
I've only played the 1st 2 levels.
But HOLY ****!
The Game Runs nice and soomthly on my P4 2.4gzh with a 128mb FX 5200.
I want to tell you what happens but you have to find that out for yourself.

it should but I dont think it handles as well as games like counterstrike, I feel so slow when I play it, even when sprinting, and most of the levels are very restrictive, its almost like playing a dungeon crawl game :mp5:

Nazi Weaponized Virus: I hate people who have top of the line systems and ask ""will my system run this???
No Offense to you though, your a good man
OF CROUSE IT WILL.
If my P4 C Can Run it and it's clocked at 2.4ghz
Of crouse the C version has 2 times as much L2 cahce.
So it will run just fine.

I can only assume you do that to show off your system specs. Doom 3 requires minimum system reqs of a 1.5 gig processor and a 64 mb video card.

2) your trying to compare it to coutnr strike? drown yourself in a toilet, OF COURSE IT TAKES MORE TO RUN IT SMOOTHLY THWAN COUTNER STRIKE, coutner strike is cheap shit, doom 3 makes pc's cringe, make the dman resolution smaller and stop whining or go play "counter strike" shit and sotp whining

Thank God, I can't run it. Judging by the screenshots, I'd need some sort of anti-dark patch to even be able to see the demon that's eating my spleen.

That's part of the fun. The game is truly atmospheric, the sound is great. You can see the monsters, but you can hear their clicks and slurping, then you see their 3 little red eyes in the dark.
THEN
HOLY SHIT!

Like the Exorcist, but with a big fucking gun.
I'm convinced!
Will just have to buy a new PC first. (Last time I bought a new machine for the sake of a game was a new Amiga with 1 MB (!) memeory in order to play Dungen Master. Those where the times.)

There better not be a PS2 realase for it!
PS2 would ruin that game so bad.
Only the XBOX and GameCube could pull the kind of stuff that DOOMIII is all about.
And it won't fit on a GC disc anyway.
I can't tell you how awsome the gameplay on this game is. It's beyond words.
It's scary,fucking scary.
Like HALO but with more guns.
And more scary gameplay.
You walking down a hall.
And you think you hear somthing.
You Keep walking. turn around,Nothing
5 seconds later, BAM!
mmmmmmm ChainGun
Ummm, yeah, in about 200 disks.
It would be closer to 2700, lol.

disappointing
scary as hell (for a game)
but the same reason I hated the quake series, its just to dark, i cant play it for any longer then 10 minutes before I get motion sickness so its kinda impractical which bites
New Astrolia
09-08-2004, 15:53
Yup motion sickness is a big problem in this game. Is it just me, or is everyone actually scared by this game. The only time I got scared was the level after the monorail. Where you had to reactivate the reactor at the start. Stoopid gas. they purposely made it sound like a Xenomorph "HOLY SHIT~~!!. Oh silly me. I been playing too much AVP gold. Which btw was the best Atmospheric game I've ever played. Even with its faults.
And Its not difficult to see enemies. Turn up your birghtness for one. Then, as its not difficult to see the hellknigts or whetever the fuck they are called you can simply let of a shortr burt from your machinegun or pistol to locate the buggers.
East Coast Federation
11-08-2004, 16:52
Yeah you really need to turn up your brightness to play this game. Else you'll get your ass kicked.
Chess Squares
11-08-2004, 16:54
i couldnt even make it play, even with a bit higher than minimum sys requirements
it just booted up to some weird ass white screen kind of shit and played music
Yup, finished it last week. Graphics are truly breathtaking, but it's just an tradional FPS. I didn't think it was any scary however. There were few old horror movie tricks, but none of them was truly original. The atmosphere was quite great. It was nicely detailed in designs of levels, models, story and so on. That saved the game from becoming borefest. This is the kind of game were you feel "sucked in", because they've greated so detailed enviroments.
Recommended to any FPS lovers. Others might consider skipping it, as it's just an linear FPS, even though all the fuss and hype.

I have a friend who is downloading Doom 3 as we speak. He hopes it will work on his system...
I myself am currently downloading Desperado and Ghostbusters, I won't bother getting Doom 3 because I know for a fact that it would be futile to attempt to run it on this computer.
Ah, God bless bittorrent...

ATI Radeon 7500 is a laptop specific video card (32Mb). Might need to push RAM to 1Gb later ...

No one should immediatly write the game off due to not meeting requirements
PIII 900 MHz
Radeon 9600
384 mb RAM
And I'm running the beast on 1024 x 768 resolutions, all the extras turned on with barely any lag, FPS around 30-35

they have different amounts of memory
and 128 is twice system requirement for the video card and the video card is a major factor in you know rendering for a game to cut lag

I think it's a great game, great graphics, and it is scary when your playing at 2 in the morning, in a completely dark room (I even blocked out my PC's power and HD LEDs), with 5.1 surround.
It runs fine for me at 1024x768, medium quality, but that's because I'm running a GeForce 5200 128 and only 256 ram.

I dont think my system will actually run Doom 3. I only have P3 600 Mhz, 256 MB Ram (this computer limits up to 256 MB, that's it.), I have umm nVidia 128 bit Tnt2 and 3D AGP 8MB graphics video. So, i doubt this game willing to work but if so, maybe it'll be slow due things that i have on this computer. My computer is an Emachines E-Monster 600. Any thoughts or what? I'll be glad to hear from you in this post or telegram.

The XBOX one should do just fine.
It probably COULD run on a GCN however.
The game disk is not large enough.
And the video card is fast enough but it doesn't have enough memory.

Doom III - I got it yesterday, but o be honest there is to much monster spawning, not that it is a bad game, its a great game and the TV Screens are amazing as are the Audio logs. But the fat zombies are hilarious!
And Half Life 2 doesn't actually seem that long away now!
