If for some ungodly reason he got on all the ballots and the Democrats weren't on any, Ralph Nader may just win the election.

I'd hope that less than 50% of registered voters do vote in that case, so that way we can have a vote of no confidence

Ralph Nader is a good guy. He made a lot of changes in the automobile industry among many other things.

But the Democrats will be on all the ballots, so it's a moot point. Not that I wouldn't rather see Nader in office than Kerry.

I reckon in 2008 some third party should submit "None of the Above" as a presidential candidate. They'd win by a landslide if they got their publicity right.

a "none of the above/no confidence" vote could only work if everyone who received less votes than the no confidence vote was disqualified.

Even if this "No Confidence" was a person? A change of any randomer's name by deed poll could solve that problem...

I should get my name changed to Anarchy... IWant Anarchy. That name would get all the votes...

Does it matter?

50% are going to be using computerized voting machines with no paper trail and shown to have no security from hacking....supplied by the same company that illegaly disenfranchised 10,000's of Democrat voters in Florida in 2000.

CEO of this company not only donates huge amounts to the Republicans, but has already publicly stated that he will "Deliver" certain States.

Bush has made $4 Billion available to the States that adopt the new terminals, despite the known problems with them.

The company will not allow the software of the Terminals to be examined, and its "updated", through the external link that allows hacking, after its passed any State testing and certification... no one knows what this "update" does.

Face it you lot... the USA is no longer a Democracy.

Even if you vote Democrat, you might be registered as voting Republican.

Bush will be in for another 4 years, even if he only fields 40% of the vote...as he'll be able to show 51% easily.

Only way to get the Republicans out now is a landslide against them, that they wont be able to hide, because of exit polls.

Face it, our political system is a hole.

We need to get money, pretty faces and political parties out of politics. Our founding fathers knew what incredible pain we'd face if we had political parties at all, and tried their best to get rid of them.

We need it so that anyone at all who wants to can run for office. People whoe would be good for President just aren't making it. Colin Powell, John Edwards and so many others that I would WANT in office, and I dare say a large amount of America would also want in office just don't make the cut.

Until we change the system and the mindset of our people, nothing here will change.

I know you're being a little sarcastic, Opal Isle, but Nader can't win because he's not on enough ballots to garner enough electoral votes to win, even if the Democratic party suddenly ceased to be. Hell--he couldn't even get on the ballot in California of all places.
