Do you think Bush is a lowclass pig for not condemning the vets against-kerry ad?

Well, Bush is a toughie.
Both candidates are guilty of mudslinging here. But yeah bush should act honorable and condemn this foul play.

Yeah, pretty much. Though he's an *upperclass* prig. He just came up a little short in the 'class' department.
I thought his campaign staff already said they had nothing to do with it and would never cast doubt on Kerry's Vietnam record?

its not all that much different from the half truth ads he endorses himself

it seems like AWOL Bush has extreme animosity against soldiers who didnt get scared and run away the same way he did--its like Bush wants to punish ALL vets to make-up for his own cowardice

then if they supposedly had nothing to do with it and would never cast doubt on Kerrys war record then they should have no problem condemning it

Is anybody honestly surprised that the Bush Campaign is keeping their lips sealed? Hasn't 2000 shown us that all that matters to them is winning?
I'm not saying that they have any responsibility in making the ad, but why on earth would they denounce it? That would be... um.... ethical. ;)

OK, as much as I despise this ad and the group that made it, I'm going to take a surprising stance.
Bush is in an awkward position on this one. If he comes out to condemn the ad he loses ground by drawing attention to it and other ads put on by right wing groups. He draws the ad into national attention and puts it on the national news. Bush would lose political points by doing it. By not condemning the ad, he still loses a few political points but doesn't nearly draw the type of politcal backlash as he would by the condemnation.
Its still a lowclass ad, and its a gutless ploy to attack Kerry. But Bush is probably making a politically saavy decision to not condemn the ad. I hate to say that, especially considering my distaste for the man.
You say low class as though it were a bad thing.

Isn't every campagin hell bent on victory?
Anyway, why does it matter if he endorses it or not? Kerry has Farenheit 9/11. Bush has pissed of war vetrans. Whats the difference?

Surely nobody thinks that politicians actually run for office because they want to make their country a better place.
PS: I mercifully don't live in the US & have therefore not been exposed to said advertisement, so I can't really comment.

No. Feh. He's a stupid president presiding over a country that didn't elect him, but he's human and decent.

Duh? I didn't say we didn't have elections. I was merely expressing my extreme dislike of the whole election process; The mud-singing, the empty promises; the shameless pandering to the stupid & easily lead. While I accept that this is the way it is, has to and will always be, it doesn't mean I have to like it.
And funnily enough, we don't get an awful lot of exposure to US campaign ads here in Australia.

Me neither.
And what part of the US? Alaska? Louisiana? What part of Australia? Coffs Harbour, for instance, has a lovely climate.

No worries mate. Now if you'll excuse me, I've just gotta throw a pair of shorts and a singlet on, saddle up the kangaroo & hop down to the shops. I'm nearly out of beer, prawns & vegemite. Need to get cracking early because it'll probably take me a couple of days. That's if there isn't a sand storm & I don't get attacked by drop-bears.
Mate.
