It depends what you mean by depression.

That's true...now that you bring that up, Germany and Italy were in depressions...the rest of the Europe went with us.

Not really, Stresemann became chancellor in 1923, recalled all the Reichsmarks (iirc) and replaced them with Rentenmark (back by American gold) and in 1924 the Dawes plan was introduced.

Also, Hitler hated the stablised economy because people were less likely to feel like the Weimar REpublic useless and become more likely to support extremist parties.

That was until The depression of course.
