CNN.com is running a breaking news banner on it's front page saying that Rick James was found dead by his caretaker today. Anyone have any corroboration?

Who's Rick James? The name doesn't ring the slightest bell.
Rick James was a famous funk/R&B singer best known for the hit song "Super Freak" and for wild cocaine and sex binges. He spent several years in jail as a result.
He sounded like he was getting his life back in order around '98 when he was (at least at the time) clean and sober and was touring.
Turns out the duet with Teena Marie would be his epitaph.
