Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

Showing my ignorance here: I don't know what the Freudian thing is (I know who Sigmund Freud is though...).

But could it not be that the US Goverment IS thinking up new ways to harm the country, so they can defend against them?

(Sorry, didn't see the other threads.)

Means bush said that he is "thinking of new ways to harm the country" unintentionaly and said it because that is what is actually happening behind the scenes.

Remember who we're talking about here? George Bush, he's rarely lucky enough to string 5 or 6 words into a sentence let alone the amount here. I think we should applaud him and graduate him from pre-school to kindergarten.

I disagree... past presidents may have been influential, but this one just an idiot in an influencial seat of power.

This is less a Freudian slip and more a set of Freudian Leather Punishment Panties. There are just some things you shouldn't be liptripping over.

Freudian slip:
A verbal mistake that is thought to reveal an unconscious belief, thought, or emotion.

Why would anyone support this guy?
Do you actually think Bush has a high IQ?
It doesn't make sense that he became President in the first place.
It doesn't make sense to say that people voted for him because
of who his father is, because Bush the first wasn't so great either,
was he? I mean how smart was the choice of Dan Quayle?
It isn't like he didn't have a lot of other choices.
The reason so many voted for him in the first place is the best kept
secret in history.

Freudian slip:
A verbal mistake that is thought to reveal an unconscious belief, thought, or emotion.I thought a Freudian slip was where you say one thing and mean your mother.

I thought it was hilarious whether it was a slip or whether it was true doesn't change the fact it was hilarious.

I'm thinking it's a bit of both. First he is ruining America because now it has horrible foreign relations. Also because like other people said, this guy has trouble constructing phrases of more than 6 words.

Yes I think you are right! I find it outrageous that us lefties can not admit that saying you want to harm the people you govern is a great idea!

This thread's just flame bait, a troll if nothing else...

The answer's in the exact same article you linked to: "The president was working his way toward a larger point. "We must never stop thinking about how best to defend our country. We must always be forward-thinking," he said."

He's not exactly the most articulate of our Presidents, but obviously he was referring to how America is always trying to think ahead of the game to plug holes and intercept the doings of the terrorists. It was a, "You have to think like a criminal to catch a criminal" type of analogy.

It's just a slip, and you know it is.

What? I'm not a lefty! And that wasn't what I meant at all. What I meant was what I said before, and what Meatopiaa also said.
