In all fairness, this forum kinda sucks.

No, this isn't another "speed it up with better servers!" rant. That problem got fixed.

Instead, I'd like to tell you all about how much I despise this forum. I've frequented many others in my days, and few measure up to the irritation I've felt while on this board. The sheer lunacy of some peoples arguments has made me hit my against a blunt object (read: wall) until I can convince myself that having to live in error is punishment enough for these infidels. Your points get so convoluted sometimes, and you completely disregard crucial evidence while in a debate.

Not to mention the feircly liberal opinions of the majority. So many times I've had to read some anti-bush joke (which is neither true nor funny) while like-minded friends chime in with like-minded responses, yeilding an orgy of biased guffawing. Eventually someone who is pro-bush or at least a little more clearminded gives a counter-statement. He's promptly knocked down in a debacle of ignorrance that would make Michael Moore proud.

But what I hate most of all is the spelling. You people seem to smash the keyboard with a bar of soap. You were concentrating on your point of veiw while making the soap, so a result slightly resembling a sentence is produced when the act of keyboard smashing occurs. Honestly, typing in the manner a drunk would slur his speach isn't clever at all. It's just dumber than Maddox. In a text only medium, the only way to establish intelligence is how well you type; not how many caps, exclamation points or smileys.

But you aren't all like that. Some people use words to establish statements instead of making a Rosetta Stone between English and retarded. Some people have good points and make lucid comments. Some people here are smart. I'd say about 15% of you fit such a description.

For a game that relies heavily on forums and roleplaying, it certainly seems that a wholey unenjoyable experience is being produced.

I have to enforce the Rule of Scroll here. (Rule of Scroll meaning anything I have to scroll to read the entirety of I will not read at all).

But judging by your thread title, I would have to agree partly. I thought it really sucked to begin with, and maybe it still does, but its grown on me a bit since The Move. Grown like a fungus!

I actually agree with most of what Valued Knowledge said. Most of you are cretins, with a few notable exceptions. The depressing thing is I'M STILL FUCKING HERE!!!!!!!11111

I can only imagine that this is because: I enjoy feeling superior.
A few of the less cretinous people make the experience worthwhile.

Don't like it? Go away. I guarentee our world will not shatter, and you can save yourself from the evil, Bush-hating liberals.

Oh, and champ? You made various spelling mistakes in your post, so either use a spellchecker or don't bitch at all.

Yeah, there is such a thing as a typo, no need to get all holier-than-thou over it. (I also strive for good language skills, but I respect those who quickly want to throw their thought out there for the sake of conversation without agonizing over linguistical correctness first.) And it seems that there are an awful lot of places to go where right-wing locksteppers never have to endure a word of dissent. Talk radio comes to mind. Hoo boy, if past attempts are any indicator, that remark will get this post deleted. Aw, well.

libs usually dont like when everyone agrees because its more fun to kill people who disagree with the FACTS--cons love walking in lockstep with each other and hate dissent of opinion of any kind cause they usually cant defend their hollow spoonfed rhetoric in anykind of extended debate

You've got to admit that a lot of people on here couldn't construct a decent argument to save themselves. I'm not singling out people of any political persuasion either. Having been trained in a profession where the ability to argue coherently is part of one's stock in trade, a lot of NSers frankly give me a headache. If you're going to make an assertion, back it up with lucid arguments and evidence from a reliable source.

reliable sources are relative
Sources that manipulate evidence and are themselves based on flawed arguments are not reliable. Even those who advocate radical points of view can have some academic/political credibility if they can back up their arguments.

I would also submit that "You only say that because you're all being brainwashed by the Establishment/Media/Capitalist Pigs" does not constitute a valid argument unless you can back up this claim, which nobody has thus far been able to do.

Eh, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one TRA, I mean perception is relative and how we process information and come to conclusions can yes be relative, but facts are just that, facts. You can't have relative facts. Now how you see those facts may very well be relative. However, there are numerous sources on the net that are just garbage and wouldn't know a fact if it hit them in the face.

There are lies, damn lies and then there are statistics sort of thing..

Well, I'm not saying that everyone here is the pinnacle of intellecutual debate-hood.

I'm saying that people shouldn't complain about the quality - either it's good enough and you stay, or you think it sucks and you leave.

Unless someone's holding a gun to the original posters head, he's free to (here's a thought) stop coming to the forum. Problem solved. He doesn't have to deal with views he doesn't like/incoherent arguments. We don't have to deal with moronic bitching.

Hope that clears up my stance a bit :p

You can't have relative facts.

A lot of post-modernists would assert that you can. Well, relative truths in any case. I would explain in more detail, but philosophy gives me a headache.
