Christianity and homosexuality

Ok im a christian and heterosexual i have no problem whatsoever with homosexuality.

Homosexuality was never singled out in the new testement rather than grouped together with other common misdemieners like fornication prostitution gambling cheating on your partner ect.

Which brings us onto the story of the the lady going to be stoned for cheating on her husband Jesus said he who has no sin shall throw the first stone therefore no body did.

When jesus said sin its specifically regarded as sexual sin including the above said crimes of mastrubation, homosexuality blah blah blah. My point is now as then people are still ready to condemn without looking towards there own faults.

The true christian nature is not to condemn but to accept people with open arms Jesus looked towards the very outcasts in society prostistutes lepars who were sometimes more ritcheous than some of the elders in the temple.

So to sum up even if ou believe homosexuality to be a sin then if you want to save them its better to accept them in love than isolate them in condemnation
I thought i had a good point so i started a new thread or would i be better :headbang:

I believe there are two threads on Christianity and homosexuality but the more the merrier (I have not even mentioned what a homoerotic icon jesus is yet). I am glad you think that way and that you are a sensible Christian rather than a bible basher. I think that your post makes an interesting point so let me put in mine too: the religious right are going about things the wrong way if they really wish to "save" homosexuals. Surely just dropping the homosexuality is wrong deal when talked to gays or lesbians and just focusing on getting them to pray to jesus would serve better than trying to utterly change our lifestyle. That way we could become Christians more willingly and pray for salvation and be saved. But nope, the religious right push it and what is the result? Hardly a single gay or lesbian christian. Y'know the backwards attitudes to homosexuality is one of the main reasons I lost my faith...

I see .... a " person of faith " coming in ... and stating their ... " pity " for the ... " heathen " ... ;)

In my personal opinion, homosexuality, like government, is something all religion should stay the fuck out of.

* Links arms Liber to go burn in christian hell for a few minutes. :D
story of the the lady going to be stoned for
Ah, I get it ! The bit about throwing ! stones is a smoke screen ! They meant with a bong ! Of course, jesus had long hair, because ... he was a hippy ! IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW ! Although, he never said much about saving trees, and that bush got burned too ... hmmm ... maybe my theory has some flaws after all ... ;)

I'm against this. I just prohibited homo-marriages in Latao. I think the special state of the Familiy must be protected and preferred in a society.

Bah, it was fading anyway. Weirdly enough it was a sci-fi satire named the Plato Papers that finished it off.

I would have figured the greater shame is that people hold and proclaim such attitudes which effect people so. For all the " love thy neigbour " business, there are an awful lot of people who seem to think it fine to add " unless they are gay " onto the end of that ...

But don't tell them that, they might actually listen to an argument or something, then how the hell ( or lack there of ) would we ignore them ? ;)
