I can't believe John Kerry threw his medals away - I mean, what was he thinking? He should have been sticking up for the President at the time. I cant believe that anyone in thier right mind would disagree with Vietnam - propping up a really good man like Diem was a good thing. Even though most of the populace hated him. Also using Agent Orange was a good thing and so was the mass bombing of Vietnamese cities.

You might want to read your history....Diem had been dead for years by then. ;)

His successor was still a puppet - and Diem himself was alive at the start of US involvement. He also laid the basic foundations for what was basically a dictatorship (The US would not allow free elections).

They're his medals he earned them he was free to do with them what he pleased. He actually didn't throw his medals away, he threw his ribbons away, but from what I have learned from former vets, it's the same difference.

I wish I didn't need to point this out, but his entire topic post was sarcastic.

1) No I haven't seen his other posts.
2) I believe he isn't a rightist.
3) The fact that he had to point out that it was sarcasm doesn't speak to highly for the right.

none of this matters. its all old stuff. what matters is now and i support the iraq war, abortion limitation. the death penalty, a ban on gay marriage, and free trade, so i am for bush. i know this isnt popular in thse forums but not only do i support bush but i pay attention to matters of substance.

I think he is sarcastic. But the rest of his post (besides the above statement) really sounds like a typical right-winger.

Surely that's the sign of good satire? It doesen't always have to be done with a sledgehammer.
