Ooooo!! *applause* both of them served their country, that's very honourable, even if soldiers during 'Nam were drafted later on.

I am currently in the Army, serving in Arizona. Tried my damndest to get over to Iraq. My wife was an Arabic Linguist, with a focus on Iraqi dialect before she got out. We are a proud military family.

I might end up one- I'll get back to you in 30 years. Save the thread.

I remember someone else mentioning their military status in a thread on Bush (as a Vet for Bush), but I can't remember for the life of me who it was or what they participated in.

And the leader if I recall!

And wow! You really got a fruit salad their! Several medals and your only missing 2 of the HIGHEST AWARDS, the Air Force Cross and the Congressional Medal of honor. Very impressive Hannibal and thanks!

My Mom is a veteran herself! She served on the enlisted side and in administration/personel! My dad has 30 years in and is still serving! He will be retiring soon and I can't wait. :)

For the amount of guys I knew who didn't comeback those medals are meaningless, I actually had to go and look in my closet for them, I don't really even look at them anymore. What we did was basically a suicide mission, esp. since we had to fly 100 missions for our tour, sometimes up to 4 a day against heavy enemy fire, all the while looking for and killing SAM's and giving occasional support to the grunts on the deck. Now that we are older, most of us wondered why we even voluntered for the Wild Weasles. Most of us were young (foolish), adventurous, and loved America. Give your mom and dad my regards.

By the way my squd leader earned the MOH, as did his wingman.
