The book was great so I decided to check out the film its an older film 59 I believe is the year of its release but just the same its a fantastic movie I think many of you guys would enjoy

If I'm not mistaken that fellow acting in the film also played the pink panther

give this one a watch or read or both I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you did max barry's novel and you like satire I see some on here like monty python ( I do as well) so again try this one. There are others, its a series

yes it was Peter Sellers. I forget, but believe he had a few different roles in the movie. If you somehow missed it, catch one of his other great movies Dr. Strangelove, Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb - a little dated but not too much. Personally I found the book better than the movie, and there was at least one other book about the same country (Grand Fenwick?), The Mouse On Wallstreet, and perhaps more. For some reason the book reminded me Graham Greene's Our Man In Havana and now that you've brought that to my mind I am going to have to dig it up for a reread.

Yeah, Sellers was great in Strangelove. I laugh everytime he uses that Strangelove voice. The character was just funny.

He was also in "Being There", a very different sort of comedy that I thought was really cool. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but it's good.

Yeah, Peter Sellers also played in the Pink Panther series as Inspetceur Clouseu....he was in multiple roles in this one. He was Grand Duchess Gloriana XII/Prime Minister Count Rupert Mountjoy/Tully Bascombe

The US lost the war. :D

Grand Fenwick also appears in the film/sequel The Mouse On The Moon which IIRC has Bernard Cribbins as the central character, who is always watchable at the very least.
