Just a question... not a direct attack.

Directed to the Democrats and supporters of Kerry. Why? What convinces you to support a man who has nothing to support his political career for the past 19 years.

I'm openly supporting Bush and still trying to understand why Kerry is recieving the support he is. Hating Bush is not enough to throw the country to Kerry and Edwards.

I dislike the job Bush has done thus far and do not trust him. He decided to go to war and tell us "definitely" Iraq had weapons that threatened us and the UK when really, they had strong maybes based on ten year out of date information. The sin wasn't in the error -- it was in convincing Congress and the Parliament they had rock-solid proof, even when sources in the CIA and MI6 were given them reports rife with "we believe" and "it appears" and "reputedly", and protested at the "definite proof" claims Bush and Blair made.

I don't necessarily believe that we should never have gone to Iraq -- but I do believe that we should have waited for better intelligence and finished helping Afghanistan set up a new, stable, and elected government -- not left them holding the bag so more terrorists can flood the country to maintain the chaos there.

What sort of profound, groundbreaking politics was Bush engaging in before he became President? Fact is no politician really has the resume that the public wants him to have to be President.

I'm unclear why you accuse Kerry of doing nothing to support his political career for the last 19 years.

And let's not act all innocent like you're just out looking for reasons to support Kerry. You're going to rip into anything anyone says championing Kerry, so let's drop the routine.

I am not an american so i dont support either party but i do find ti amusing that people attack Kerry for not having any experience etc when Bush has been in politics for a far shorter time. One term as governor of texas doesnt make for a lot of political experience if you ask me.

Okay. I'll tell you my reasons.

1. He'll balance the budget. I don't care if it means more taxes or big cuts, and I believe that Kerry doesn't care either- he'll get the job done. Gov. Doyle did the same thing here in Wisconsin, cleaning up after a Republican-induced budget mess.

2. Healthcare. We've got to get a system where more people have health coverage, and Kerry has a better plan than Bush.

3. Environment. Bush is the worst environmental president since Grover Cleveland's famous 'kill all the spotted owls' executive order of 1844. He pulled out of Kyoto. He relaxed pollution laws at home. He wants to drill in Alaska. I know it's a little of the 'anybody but Bush' syndrome, but Kerry has said he'll be better.

4. Character issues. I trust Kerry more than Bush, plain and simple.

5. His voting record is a strength to me. Some have called him a flip-flopper, but to me his voting record shows that he has put some thought into his decisions. This means he might actually listen to me, whereas I feel that Bush will do whatever Bush will do.

So those are my top five.

I support Kerry because he is the only one with any chance of unseating Bush, period. Is he just as much a dirty politician with his own agendas that will probably cause problems? Yup, probably. However, they will be different problems rather than more of the same.

On top of that, the two-term limit for presidents causes another issue. A second term president cannot ever be reelected to the presidency and thus basically has nothing to lose. This means that they will do whatever the hell they want, short of what they feel might get them impeached. After all the shit that Bush has already done, the last thing this country needs is for him to have four years in which he doesn't have to worry what the American people think. So, until we get a president I actually like, I'll probably keep voting for the new guy in order to keep anyone from having a second term.
