In case anyone was wondering - Fox STILL sucks.

Okay, I know this issue has been beaten to death, but when is Fox going to stop making me bring this up?

Fox sucks. Half of their shows get content from the other Fox shows. And a lot of the on air time of Fox is reruns. So you have the oppurtunity to see some shows four times in one day sometimes...

Okay, anyone else have any new rants on Fox?

wewt - Fox just ripped CNN's slogan and added "The Most Watched" in front of it...

I just saw a commercial for Fox news that said "Fox - The most watch, the most trusted name in news." I thought for sure CNN was the "most trusted," not only in slogan, but also in actuality. I know I personally trust CNN more than any of the other news groups...although...it's hard to trust any of them..

Fox: Bad.

Fox News: Worse.

Didn't CNN have to take a country-wide survey to get that name?

If FAUX is using that name without a survey, in that case a suit could be filed and we might remove both "Most Trusted and Most Watched" and "Fair and Balanced" in one stroke. Go, ACLU, go! Pounce now!

My feelings? Faux News: Fairly Unbalanced (shamelessly stolen from somewhere else on the internet that does not come to mind right now- it was someone's avatar.)

Damn...I wish I thought that up...it's funny.

The Most watched part is based on ratings data collected by advertising agencies (to determine prices for ads during certain different shows). If you are most watched, you can reason they are the most trusted, get a life and stop bickering over slogans.

Hrm...I watch Fox but trust very little of it. I watch Fox when I want entertainment and I watch CNN when I want news.

Inferences are bad.

....BUT--even if it were proven fact that they were the most trusted news, it doesn't change the fact that they did in fact steal their slogan straight from CNN.

I watch either of them when I want nausea in my belly (which is never).

I'm not going to rant about Fox News which is horrible, but Fox; when the best thing they can show during the day is "The Hand That Rocks the Cradle", theres a problem.

This isn't about the slogan, it's a springboard to discredit Faux News. Who said Liberals can't be devious?

Another reason Fox sucks--

"Another 9/11 attack may be just around the corner..."

uhm...wtf has Bush's slogan been for a while? JUST AROUND THE CORNER?!

Well...you missed my point...

Bush has been promoting his ideas (positively) on a "just around the corner" slogan...

...and now Fox refers to terror attacks as being "just around the corner"

Sure Fox sucks, they were decent when they were new and had nothing to lose, but there is a limit to how long reality shows and Simpson's reruns can support a network in a competative enviroment. Fortunetly for Fox the competition also sucks, so they can maintain market share. What decent shows has CBS come up with lately?

On Fox, let me put it this way:

Fox is the company that SUED ITSELF

Fox reports the terror alert a whole lot more than any other news network...

It's so specific that it isn't hugely important to people outside the NY/DC area...
If this weren't a piece of presidential mood-ring propaganda, why does the entire nation need to hear about something that effects only the DC/NY area...?

EDIT: I can understand reporting it once or twice every now and then, but Fox is reporting it like after every commercial break.

I kinda like Arrested Development...

However, I still haven't forgiven them for screwing Futurama off the air.

I think he's talking about the TV network and not about the news service, although it's true for both of them.

Who is this "he" you speak of? The forum starter? Better check and see just who that is...

Whoops! A thousand appologies. I breached the Internet Rule Of Ettiqute #1: Never assume anything about a person's gender unless they are on the computer sitting next to you and naked.

Sorry.

Um, no, apparently not. I had dinner with my family and that involved a lot of wine so I'm a little slow on the uptake right now.

Doh, wait, I just got it. I'm a complete idiot. Just ignore me and let's never speak of this again.

I confused the top of this page with the first page in the thread. There is an important lesson in this like "read the whole thread before you post" but I'm far too tipsy right now to actually learn anything.

I'm not positive you do, so I'm going to spell it out for you.

I am the original poster. I am male, but that isn't what I was talking about. The point is, you said something about "I think he meant blah blah blah," but...you were telling me what you thought "he" (being me) meant...

Yeah, I figured that out. Like I said, I'm tippled and for some reason which escapes me at this time, other than the tippled thing, I thought page two was page one and that there was a misunderstanding. Then I thought there was a misunderstanding about the OP, but I was wrong because who I thought was the OP wasn't the OP, which was you, but you weren't who I thought you were, which was Squi, who wasn't the OP, who was you.

There, I'm, um, glad I cleared that up.
