Long, Long ago...
There was a band from Boston.
They were called "Aerosmith". WAIT! DONT GO!
Once upon a time...before they became the wretched wastes of glam and pop music galore....
Believe it or not..
Those same people ...
Rocked.
Its true, Im not making this up.
Back then, you see..there were songs of thier first albums like:
"Mama Kin"
"Spaced"
"Seasons of Wither"
"Nobodys Fault"
and many more....THAT ACTUALLY ROCKED.
I know that there are many of you who will not believe this, but find these songs, and give them a listen.
Its the damndest thing....
Who knew?

Dream On is one of the classic rock anthems of all time.

Yeah, it's true. They did rock at one time, and they had faded into well-deserved drug-induced oblivion, and then Run-DMC resurrected their career with their remake of "Walk This Way." Now, much as I love Run-DMC (I was the only white kid in my high school with copies of "Tougher Than Leather" and "Raising Hell"), there's a part of me that will never forgive them for bringing Aersomith back so they could give us "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thang" among other schlocky power ballads.

Very true.
Mere moments my good freind had this to say...
"I just have a hard time respecting theyre earlier stuff. I mean, If they knew what they were going to become, If they were good citizens, they would have swallowed their tounges."
Thats true.
But I try to look past the gay that is....and focus on the "Rock" that was..

What are you talking about? You can't beat lyrics like, "J-J-J-J-J-J-J-Jaded!"

I would say that the whole song is good.....but only the last few measures "Rock".
Notice the " " .

Could the final portion of "Dream On" be considered to "Rock"?

Steven Tyler's train of thought:
We need a hot young girl for the guys who watch our videos to salivate over. Now where could we get a hot young sex symbol to completely objectify? Hmm...hot young sex symbol...complete objectification...I KNOW! MY DAUGHTER!
Now, for anyone who's seen Clerks: The Animated Series:
Randall: If you were Steven Tyler from Aerosmith and you could pretty much have sex with any woman in the world, who would you pick?
Dante: <sigh> Oh, Caitlan....
Randall: Her? See, I'd pick Liv Tyler.
Aerosmith isn't from Boston, it's from Sunapee, NH.

They used to claim to be from Boston.
Boston = nearest city of any significance.

Well, they were originally formed in Sunapee, but they made their fame in the Boston area. Plus, as someone who's from Massachusetts, it's easier to tell out of New England people you're just from Boston than tell them where you're actually from and just have them give you weird stares.

and steven Tyler started singing, instead of playing Drums.
You know, Metallica used to be good too.
.....Damn, what happened? Did they just turn up the "suck" knob or something?

I think it was somewhere between their all-cover album and suing their fans for downloading their music.

Ahh..but once upon a time there was a another Metallica cover album that was called.."Garage Days Revisted."
Featuring:
"Last Caress/Green Hell" by the Misfits.
"Crash Course in Brain Surgery" By Budgie.
"BreadFan" also by Budgie.
"The Prince" by someone I cant remember.
and a couple others.
It too, "rocked".
