Here startith the most annoying thread of "What if..." situations. I'll start. Please, limit 1 situation per post and let's try not flaming. Just read the "what if..." and think "oh, that'd be weird" then post your "what if."

If the 4th plane hit the capitol building or the white house, we would be even more devastated, and probobly would be more agressive in fighting the terrorists.
If gore was president he would've listened to the intelligence office and would have taken evasive actions to prevent 9/11. Bush blew Clintin's plans right off the table because they required taxes on rich people.

Are we allowed to ask more than one 'what if' question? If so, I have more:
What if the U.S. had not supported Castro in his takeover of Cuba? (And, yes, they did: Read 'Cuba Betrayed' by Fulgencio Batista; 'The Fourth Floor' by Earl E.T. Smith [who was ambassador to Cuba at the time] and 'Red Star Over Cuba' which I don't remember the author of)

well if gore was president he'd've sat around all day doing nothing probly waiting for the UN to take care of Osama, which BTW the UN has failed and/or not completed every peacekeeping mission it has ever embarked upon
but back on topic... what if Lincoln HADN'T freed the slaves?
also the middle east wouldve just split itself up eventually, they all hate eachother, look at the AL

i feel it would be easier to deal with the middle east if they didn't have so many territorial disputes. having things revolve around tribal lands creates fewer border disputes.
