I've found yet another stupid flaw in the Patriot Act

It dramatically increases wiretap and eavesdropping powers of the govt, right?

Well 9/11 happened because our intel gathering abilities were TOO HIGH TECH!!! Al-queda spread most of its info by word of mouth - what good are those new laws if they dont even pinpoint the problem?

Y-know, WW1 intel gathering probably would've been better; we used to keep a supply of hawks around to catch carrier pidgeons.

It comes to the point where you wonder...
Were the Executive Acts passed following 9/11 to stop the spread of terrorism, or to catch criminals in the act for a slew of other crimes being committed by some members of the American public.

But at least it will give the NSA, FBI etc....something to do so they won't appear completely useless.

What about the anti-mafia laws on the books? (Rico Laws) Do you not find the rules a bit harsh? Afterall we are trying to prevent attacks, don't you want law enforcement to be able to stop terrorists.
