Brian's Song
Has anyone seen this 1971 classic true story about Chicago Bear's running back Brian Piccolo? It is the only movie that has consistently gotten my dad and I to cry. It is shown alot on ESPN Classic. It is about his friendship with Gale Sayers and tragic death to cancer at age 26. A real tear jerker

IDF--do you have a life that doesn't involve Chicago sports?

no, that is why I'm suicidal, the teams lose so I must shoot myself, the only thing keeping me alive is the Flubs losing (just joking on the suicide thing, I'm sarcastic. My life revolves around my goals and a future in the US Navy as a commissioned officer)

Ah, Chicago. The only place that makes us Red Sox fans feel better about not winning the World Series since 1918.

The Cubs are what--game and a half out of the wild card right now?

The football scenes are all real game footage, it is a good movie. Besides Dick Butkus plays himself in it, no movie with the greatest and deadliest linebacker ever can be shit.
It was a made for TV movie that made ESPNs top 20 list of sports movies, the only made for TV on the list. Good acting too with James Caan (better known for Sonny Corleone in Godfather) and Billy Dee Williams (Lando in Star Wars)

That movie was heavy. An excelent movie, but it really puts things into perspective. If you know what i mean.
My Dad played College football at Northern Illinois (a year they were ranked 18th in the nation for Division 1A on the UPI poll (now the AP poll) and won the MAC).
The whole team saw the movie on the road in a hotel room and my Dad said there was not a dry eye in the room, when my Dad and I watch it on ESPN Classics, he will still cry. The new 2001 movie is even sadder.
It seems that the only 2 sports movies that will consistently make you cry are Field of Dreams and Brian's Song
