Um I dont have the lyrics. Yes Eurotrip is a movie. It's this movie about these 4 Americans who just graduated from high school and they go out to Europe on a vacation. One of them tries to look for his german penpal whom he thought was a boy but was actually a girl, a hot one. http://imdb.com/title/tt0356150/ Here's a link for more info.

Click on the little speaker icons on the link I provided above for audio samples...

....hmm, may have to be a member to do that.

Anyway, sounds like a cool soundtrack - even has David Hasselhoff! ;)

I think he's referring to when the Manchester United hooligans were about to beat the living crap out of Scotty so he sang "My Baby Takes the Morning Train". I have no idea who sings it but its really old.

This one?

I wake up every mornin', I stumble out of bed
Stretchin' and yawnin', another day ahead
It seems to last forever, and time goes slowly by
Till babe and me's together, then it starts to fly

'Cause the moment that he's with me, time can take a flight
The moment that he's with me, everything's alright
Night time is the right time, we make love
Then it's his and my time, we take off

CHORUS:
My baby takes the morning train,
He works from nine till five and then,
He takes another home again to find me waitin' for him

REPEAT CHORUS

He takes me to a movie, or to a restaurant, to go
Slow dancing, anything I want
Only when he's with me, I catch light
Only when he gives me, makes me feel alright

CHORUS:
My baby takes the morning train,
He works from nine till five and then,
He takes another home again to find me waitin' for him

All day I think of him, dreamin' of him constantly
I'm crazy mad for him, and he's crazy mad for me
When he steps off that train, I'm heading for, a fight
Work all day to earn his pay, so we can play all night

CHORUS:
My baby takes the morning train,
He works from nine till five and then,
He takes another home again to find me waitin' for him

(chorus repeats out)

He's always on that morning train
He works so hard
To find me waiting for him...

Why is a football chant not a 'proper song'?

Damn you BWO.

It was written in haste.

To clarify:

Was it a football chant?

No, damn you for backing down so fast - I was looking forward to a good fight there.

Personally, I am not in the mood for a fight over semantics and a hastily written post.

But anyway.

A chant could simply be defined as being some simple words sung with the same note, or notes with little deviation from the original. (You can tell I am no musician). A song tends to have backing music and a more complex rhythm to it.

However I was mistaken in using the word 'proper.' As it tends to be used in a purely subjective way, eg the idea that some people hold regarding 'proper' music. So a chant is a song, but not vice-versa.

However I still hold that my sentence was fine as a way of differentiating between something that would be chanted from the stands of Old Trafford and something that could be put on the soundtrack to the film.

I'm not just being pedantic or picking on a hastily written post for the sake of it, but rather because it seemed to betray something about your beliefs about music - which you then went on to outline.

So where does "We Are The Champions" fall? or "You'll Never Walk Alone"?

As I said, the idea of there being proper songs is as ludicrous as there being proper music.

So where does "We Are The Champions" fall? or "You'll Never Walk Alone"?
Thank you for highlighting the impossibility to effectivly pidgeon-hole something.

However the original sentence I was going to use was worse.
